The most beautiful temple I've visited in South Korea. 🏯✨ The view was absolutely stunning, and the whole place felt so peaceful and relaxing. I'm really glad I came. 😇🙏 I visited during the day, but I think it would be just as beautiful at night too. Definitely a must-visit if you're in Busan! 💯🍀

This is one of the most beautiful temples I’ve ever been to in Korea. And I’ve been to many different temples here in this country. Located very close to the beach, it has stunning views and easy access. I’d say it’s definitely worth going out of your way to come here because the views, atmosphere and everything is second to none.

Kitty and I made a special trip to visit this famous temple, and it turned out to be one unforgettable highlight of our time in Busan. Unlike most Korean temples that sit high up in the mountains, this one is uniquely built right along the rocky coastline, with the East Sea stretching out before it. The moment we arrived, we could hear the calming sound of waves crashing against the cliffs, mixed with the fresh sea breeze, which created such a peaceful and spiritual atmosphere. We walked down the famous 108 stone steps, which are said to let go of worldly worries one by one as you descend. Along the way, there are beautiful stone lanterns, colourful prayer lanterns, and detailed statues including the twelve zodiac guardians and the great Buddha looking out over the ocean. Every corner feels thoughtfully designed, blending traditional architecture perfectly with breathtaking natural scenery. We took plenty of photos, especially near the main hall, the wishing bridge, and the viewing points where you can see the whole temple complex against the bright blue sea. It felt magical to stand there, make a quiet wish, and just soak in the serenity all around us. Even though it is a very popular spot, it never felt overcrowded, and we found many quiet spots to sit and enjoy the view together. It takes a little effort to walk up and down the slopes and stairs, but every step is absolutely worth it. There are also small shops and stalls nearby selling local snacks and souvenirs, which made our visit even more convenient. Kitty and I both agreed this is one of the beautiful temples we have visited. It is not only a place of culture and faith, but also a stunning natural landmark that you simply must not miss when in Busan.

Haedong Yonggungsa in Gijang, Busan is one of the most beautiful temples I have visited in Korea. Unlike most temples that are hidden deep in the mountains, this temple is located right beside the ocean, creating a perfect combination of a peaceful Buddhist atmosphere and stunning coastal scenery. The sound of the waves, the fresh sea breeze, and the colorful temple buildings make the visit truly unforgettable. I visited in May before Buddha’s Birthday, which is celebrated on May 24 this year, and the temple was decorated with countless wish lanterns. The lanterns were beautifully displayed throughout the temple grounds, adding vibrant colors and a magical atmosphere, especially around sunset. Walking beneath the lanterns while overlooking the ocean felt both calming and spiritual. There are many great photo spots, but the true charm of Haedong Yonggungsa is its peaceful energy and breathtaking ocean view. I recommend visiting early in the morning or later in the evening to avoid the crowds and fully enjoy the scenery. If you are traveling to Busan, this temple is definitely worth visiting at least once.
