Good food for reasonable pricing given the quality and location in the city. Would come back. Good atmosphere. English menu has no markup
View on GoogleI went all out and got a little taste of many things. That’s the point and this is true Japan. Only foreigner I. The place so I knew I was at the right place. Staff was efficient and friendly even if a language barrier. If you want a taste of Japan check them out. Very reasonable prices and excellent food options.
View on GoogleFood is ok, service is good. But because of their price difference for english menu. (Up to 30% increase per item) Will not recommend.
View on GoogleGreat izakiya! Delicious food, good drinks reasonable prices. True Japanese experience
View on GoogleI went to Chikuzenya Ikebukuro East Exit branch. It has a lively atmosphere typical of an izakaya, a place you can enjoy casually. What stood out most was a dish of grilled egg and natto. The savory aroma of the natto combined with the fluffiness of the egg made for a deliciousness you rarely find elsewhere. However, maybe the cooking is inconsistent, because sometimes it comes out overcooked, and that day it was a bit on the firm side. Even so, overall the seasoning and portions are solid, and I think it's a place where you can enjoy the other skewers and standard dishes too. The value for money is good, and it's the perfect izakaya for when you want to drink without any pretension. I'd like to go again, hoping next time it comes out cooked just right.
