As of Feb 2024, there is a stamp rally going on, if you visit 4 places of manga related museums nearby, you can secure a gift for yourself. This place was a rice mill in the past. But now it is a museum in the same old building. The staff is very polite and used a translator to explain to me everything about the place, old manga master artists and their lifestyle, timelines. I also got myself a cute postcard. Admission is free apart from the nearby manga station on the same road.

An extraordinary “rest stop”😳. No, not a “rest stop” but a must-see archive. On the 2nd floor there's an exhibit that complements the “Tokiwa-so Museum”😄. It's a reproduction of “Hiroo Terada”'s room. It was reproduced exactly as in old photos🧐. Me, after being recommended the 2nd-floor exhibit: “Sorry, I don't know Hiroo Terada?” The guide who recommended it: “It would be easier to recommend if it were Osamu Tezuka-sensei's room, but we deliberately chose Hiroo Terada-sensei. Osamu Tezuka-sensei was a god above the clouds, while Hiroo Terao-sensei looked after the manga artists who came later like a big brother, so young manga artists followed afterward. 'Tokiwa-so' existed not only because of Osamu Tezuka-sensei but because Hiroo Terada-sensei was there.” Looking at the timeline of Tokiwa-so residents, I understood. You can see that during the period Hiroo Terada-sensei lived there, young people like Shotaro Ishinomori and Fujio Akatsuka followed. The tatami have no borders. Apparently they were cheap tatami, and in reality they were something like goza mats, as in the photos of that time. Hiroo Terada, pictured there, was apparently a handsome young man, unlike a typical manga artist. A magazine editor lived on the 1st floor, which was convenient; Osamu Tezuka-sensei left the security deposit for the two Fujiko Fujio; at the Tokiwa-so Museum, the hand-drawn ceiling painting of Sapphire from Princess Knight is a must-see. I got to enjoy hearing all sorts of stories. Thank you so much😊. “Is the bowl a Matsuba bowl?” I asked, peering in, and it was a plain bowl, “because we couldn't confirm it from the photos.” Realistic, sincere, and earnest through and through😌. PS1: About the tatami, the tatami at the Tokiwa-so Museum have borders. Apparently this is because the era reproduced is different. PS2: About the toilet, it's a pit toilet. The toilets for number two were offset in position between the 1st and 2nd floors. There's one cesspool. The model at the rest stop reproduces this, but it isn't depicted at Tokiwa-so Park or the site monument. Before I knew it, this turned into quite a long post. Sorry😥. But that's how much I really want you to visit this place🤗. And that's just fine😁
