A long-established sushi restaurant in the residential area between Sugamo and Otsuka, about 5 minutes' walk from Sugamo Station. Seating is mainly counter seats, but there are also 6 table seats. I'd been curious about it for a while, and on this first visit I ordered the course. First a toast with bottled beer, then the otoshi (appetizer) was tuna tsumire, elaborate and delicious. The course started with a sashimi platter, followed by grilled hamaguri clams / fugu karaage / grilled negima / chawanmushi, exquisite dishes of carefully prepared seasonal fish, enjoyed with sake. I was especially moved by the plump hamaguri and fluffy fugu…! Nigiri were 6 pieces: salmon / scallop / shrimp, and so on. The rolls were kappa maki and negitoro maki; again, elaborately prepared toppings with slightly small rice, just right and tasty. Above all, the tamagoyaki's gentle sweetness was lovely. The food was satisfying across the board, but the regulars at the counter were getting pretty rowdy… a little more consideration, please (lol)

A great sushi restaurant in Sugamo where you can dine in a calm atmosphere. Seating is mainly counter seats, but there are also about 4 table seats. The topping case is lined with an amazing variety of seafood, which they let you enjoy prepared in all sorts of ways. The toppings, of course, are all fresh ♪ You can order omakase, and there's also à la carte. Courses start from 7000 yen. A wide selection of shochu and sake too ♪ The restaurant is non-smoking. That day, the katsuo, saba, and iwashi were outstanding. The staff were very warm and spoke so gently that I ended up staying a long time. The eel kurikara was good too. I went pretty overboard, but the bill was 15,000 yen, more reasonable than I expected. A place I want to visit regularly.

Just the right seasoning to go with the meal, delicious! ◆Beer (770 yen incl. tax) ◆Kiyoizumi, hot (660 yen incl. tax) ◆Minami (880 yen incl. tax) ◆Otoshi Simmered tuna First of all, it's very comfortable! Basically you order à la carte, but if you ask for omakase, they'll serve dishes while gauging how you're doing. Many menu items have no listed prices, so first-timers might get nervous, but the pricing is reasonable. And so, it's joined my list of favorites. (≧∀≦)

A sushi restaurant quietly tucked away in a back alley. I've been coming here ever since it was located along Hakusan-dori. The showcase of colorful seafood, unchanged from then to now, when viewed from a counter seat, even gives you the illusion of being in a jewelry store, despite it being a sushi restaurant. Ordering à la carte is fine, and omakase is fine too. There's none of the cramped feeling common at sushi restaurants. The stylish taisho (chef), who's also from Sugamo, and the kind okami (proprietress) serve the sushi with a smile.
