Amazing food at great price! It’s a underground small place run by one man where dim light and nostalgic background music create a private and cozy sphere. Besides deer and boar, side dishes are quite innovative, a nice fusion of cuisines from different countries that made by heart and cannot be replicated. I don’t know which brand of green tea pack they were using but the green tea highball tasted good as hell. Literally my favorite izagaya in Tokyo and if it were not far from my home I would definitely go there every week! Sign.

While searching for well-reviewed places around Komagome Station, this one came up. I made my first reservation and visited. It is about a 5-minute walk from JR Komagome Station and is located underground. The ときわ食堂 sign on the first floor stands out. They apparently also have game meat, and there was something resembling a taxidermied deer partway down the stairs. The interior is dim, but it has a mysterious atmosphere that is nice. There are counter seats and table seats where you take off your shoes. We had a table, and the place is quite well-worn in a good way, making it comfortable. To start, we ordered skewers and stewed offal, and everything was cheap and delicious. I especially liked the liver. This has become a definite repeat visit for me. I will make a reservation again next time. Visited again 1 week after the previous visit. Having thought it was a good place after visiting, I brought someone else this time. There were seats available since it was a weekday. As expected, all the food is inexpensive and delicious. All the skewers are tasty, and the salt-seasoned offal stew has plenty of variations, which is nice. This time I ordered Italy. It had a tomato base. The seared harami was also tender and delicious. However, when I checked whether one order had gone through, the staff member was full of excuses, which left me feeling unpleasant. The food and prices are good, so I will put that behind me and visit again.

I understand that this is part of its character, but I wish it were a little cleaner. I don't think I want to take off my shoes and step onto that tatami. As for the food, the negiyaki was good, but the rest was a bit underwhelming. The staff— the owner didn't have a very nice manner.
