A good old Japanese cafe. A place of relaxation for local people. It's definitely not for tourists, so please enjoy yourself without causing any trouble to the locals who are enjoying their time here.
View on GoogleThe moment we walked in, the elderly woman working there looked annoyed. When I said "Two people," she reluctantly showed us to a seat and handed us a grubby menu. While we were looking over the menu and choosing, cold water was served right away. There was a sign next to our seat saying "Smoking-purpose establishment," so my companion asked for an ashtray, but she curtly said "This shop is non-smoking, so go smoke at the smoking area nearby" and took away our water—an implicit demand to "leave." As for us, if it was non-smoking, we'd still have been happy to just enjoy some coffee... Since we felt communication itself was a problem, we left without ordering anything. To put it bluntly, it was an unpleasant experience. We had just dropped in on a whim on our way back from a shrine while sightseeing, but it ended up leaving me with a bad impression of Komagome Station itself. Why have a shop on a main street? There's a mismatch between the location and their business attitude, and I struggle to understand it. How to handle that property, in what context and with what meaning—it's a textbook example of why ill-informed people shouldn't own assets.
View on GoogleAn old-fashioned atmosphere; I was able to spend an elegant time with classical music playing. On my way back from seeing Furukawa Garden, I ordered a ham sandwich. A nostalgic taste, like the ones my mother used to make for me. Time flows differently here—these days, that's a real luxury, isn't it.
View on GoogleBasically run by one veteran mama Sometimes opens starting in the afternoon Irregular days off, no food Non-smoking since way back🚭 A nice place to relax with a coffee🎵 The music playing in the shop was different, but Mama loves Latin music. That's right, Rio isn't just about the carnival, is it. Thank you for the treat I got to relax Mama, stay well and don't push yourself Blend 500 yen Nice coffee(^^)
View on GoogleA cafe near Komagome Station A grandma is working hard all on her own! Tourists don't come around this side even during cherry blossom or autumn leaves season, so it's great that you can relax relatively at ease!
