Cafe in Tobu department that sells castella like pancakes 🥞 Later in Ikebukuro station Tobu department 5th floor I’m not really a fan of these types of so-called pancakes but the cost seems fair. The recent reviews warn of bad or rude services 😅 let’s see 980 2x pancakes 🥞 450 ice coffee drink set ☕️ WiFi available from department The hot cake came fast. I wonder if they are premade 😗 It’s very soft and warm. Feels like eating a castella sponge cake 🧁 It tasted a bit sweet so I just had it with butter 🧈 and skipped the syrup Didn’t encounter any rude staff ✌️ Came around 3pm - not too crowded Overall fluffy hot cakes were okay. I liked the vibe of this to spend some relaxation time

#toast 537 — located inside the Tobu department is this kissaten that specialises in hotcakes and light bites. I got the toast set and it was expected - the plating is nice, and the environment is “crafty”. It was a bit hard to locate the kissaten in general because of the layout of Tobu- but aside from that, I think it is a nice, quiet place for catchup. A cafe located on the 5th floor of the department store. It is a slightly over priced but handy cafe. The atmosphere feels a bit retro, like a a 1970s japanese cafe. They had kasshi cake which I thought was pretty rare (at least for Japan). The coffee selection was very limited but they do have a very good dessert menu and light meal menu as well. A good place to go if you are waiting around at the train station or in the mood for a quick rest or snack.

I visited a coffee shop on the 5th floor of 東武百貨店 池袋店. The interior had the calm atmosphere of an old-fashioned coffee shop, a space that felt somewhat nostalgic. Many desserts on the menu were photogenic, and being able to enjoy their appearance was part of the appeal. I ordered ホットケーキ, while my friend ordered waffles. The ホットケーキ had a fluffy texture and a lovely simple, gentle flavor typical of a coffee shop. The interior also felt welcoming, so I'd recommend it for a shopping break or a cafe visit with friends.
