Udon noodle restaurant

Based on “Sanuki udon,” we make firm, chewy udon in-store every day using our own original method, and the skill of our experienced craftsmen creates delicious udon loved by many. Our dashi is Kansai-style, a light, golden dashi packed with the concentrated umami of its ingredients.

This restaurant had a very friendly atmosphere, there was a short line with a waiting list to enter however my friend and I did a quick walk around the centre and the line was cleared and we had no wait to enter. The inside was a bit small but was not cramped and we were provided with a QR Code that had a Foreign Language Menu (Included English, Korean, Chinese). We ordered the Colourful Udon and Beef Wagyu Udon Set, the menu was pretty well priced and the portions weren't bad. The broth was nicely flavoured and the noodles were a good texture, a bit firmer but still chewy. The staff were also very polite and welcoming and also very patient with us since our Japanese was not very good.

Delicious udon! I got the tempura udon set and it was fantastic. The broth is so tasty, the udon noodles had the perfect texture, and the tempura was crispy and tasty. The staff were also very friendly. I will come back here for sure.

This place was a welcome sight when we were starving after drenched in the rain on our walk to our hotel. There was a short waiting list but the wait wasn't long at all and they had stools outside for people to sit on. We sat at the side counters and were given English menus. I got the small beef sukiyaki rice and small kitsune udon (love that I could sample a bit of both dishes) and my sibling got the chicken tempura udon. It was so much food I could barely finish it and it wasn't too expensive either! I also tried a bit of my sibling's chicken tempura and wow that might be the best chicken tempura I've ever had. They fry it on the spot as it was piping hot and took a while to come out. Definitely would recommend this spot for lunch for it's rice and udon dishes.

I visited Kaneya on Saturday, May 31st 2025 with two kids and 3 adults. We ordered 2 kid’s plates, one cold udon, one unagi, one tempura moriawase. The udon texture is good, I like it because it’s firm and chewy. The soy sauce is not too salty, it’s just correct portion. Kids ate the udon, sausage, pudding and drank 100% orange juice. The rice curry was sweet. I ate with two medical doctors, they said the kid’s menu had too much carbohydrates. Udon and rice are carbs. One small sausage contains 5 to 6 grams protein. It has no veggies for fibers and minerals. The pudding is sweet and the orange juice is sweet, too. Please revise the menu for kids! Go on to the other dishes, Tempura is crunchy and delicious. You can order unagi with a set meal or only unagi (grilled eel). The price is reasonable.

Located in the Sunshine shopping mall in Ikebukuro, this place offers a friendly atmosphere. The homemade udon and soba are excellent 🍲🍝🥢♡ ༘*.゚. The service is quick and friendly, and the prices are reasonable for the quality of the dishes. They also have child seats available, making it a convenient spot for families. A must-visit for fans of Japanese cuisine.👏
