So many delicious ways to enjoy tonkatsu here! The cabbage is fresh and goes perfectly with the shiso soy sauce, tonkatsu sauce, or sesame dressing. You can also adjust the portions of rice and cabbage, which is a nice touch. Definitely a place I’d revisit when I’m in Ikebukuro!
View on GoogleWe came upon this place randomly, but it ended up being a highlight of our trip. The pork cutlet was incredible, fried beautifully on three sides while revealing how juicy and tender it is on top. The sauces at the table were amazing, both on the cutlet and the cabbage. Even the soup had us thinking of home. The staff was so kind to us, we spoke very limited japanese and they assisted us with a little English menu to help us order via machine (the machine nor English menu is fully translated, but that's ok). We will be thinking about this meal for a long time to come, very memorable.. we'll miss it when home!
View on GoogleA fantastic place to get a delicious tonkatsu and at a reasonable price. They have several selections to choose from, and I went with the ヒレカツ, which was great. You can get large rice or cabbage with no extra charge, so you can decide how much you want. The pork was tender and juicy, with just a light, crunchy breading that didn’t overwhelm the taste. The rice, miso, and vegetables were all excellent, with a great house made sauce. The staff was friendly and service fast. You might have to wait, so be prepared for that. Worth your time.
View on GoogleI stumbled on this place completely by accident. Staff was so accommodating, they understood I don’t speak/read Japanese beyond the very basic phrases, and were willing to point stuff out to me and help me order. Portion was very generous. Katsu was cooked perfectly, though a bit greasy on the bottom because they have it resting directly on the cabbage and not on a wire rack - honestly a very minor thing to point out. I would happily go back on my next trip to Tokyo.
View on GoogleThe best fried pork chop in Tokyo and the price is very good. The pork chop is super tender and juicy. The panko is crispy. It melted in your mouth. The cabbage and rice can have different size with the same price. The set meal come with soup. And the soup is not regular miso soup. It has vegetable and pork broth. The staffs are super friendly and nice to non Japanese speaking tourist like me. The only drawback for this store is the size. The store is small. If you come with a big group, then you may have difficult to find a good seat to sit together.
