Spicy green onion ramen, 850 yen. A half portion of rice comes free. The green onions are crisp and tasty. Prices are on the cheaper side overall. Recommended.

Visited on a weekday evening Ordered katsu curry for 950 yen and gyoza for 300 yen It came out after more than 20 minutes. The katsu was a bit burnt and somewhat hard in parts, but there were juicy fatty bits too. The curry seemed made from store-bought roux and didn't feel special, but it's homestyle and there's demand for that kind of thing. The gyoza were decent and tasty too. It's a machi-chuka in front of the station where you can grab a quick meal on your own, and the taste isn't bad, so it's a valuable spot. It's run by a couple? and the turnover is a bit slow, though.

Large handmade noodles plus a half portion of fried rice came to exactly one thousand yen. The large portion is really generous and a great deal. A long-established machi-chuka in front of Sugamo Station.

Found a great place where you can enjoy a good old-fashioned Japanese machi-chuka! Apparently it's a long-established shop that's been around since Showa 23. I ordered handmade ramen, tanmen, and gyoza. The ramen has that standard flavor that makes you want to say, "This is it!" And it's delicious. The smooth texture of the handmade noodles is nice too. The tanmen really is loaded with vegetables. A gentle salt-based flavor. With vegetable prices soaring in recent years, 750 yen for this must be quite a bargain. The gyoza were full of meaty flavor and delicious too! Overall, I felt it was a comforting, gentle, nostalgic taste that seeps into the Japanese heart. Prices overall, including alcohol, are very reasonable, which is much appreciated. I'd love to visit again.

The ramen was average. The half fried rice in the set seemed like a premade one that had been stir-fried again. Because it wasn't hot.
