The broth was thick and flavorful and the large chunk of charshu was tender and moist. The ramen itself could have used just a bit more noodles but I was still quite satisfied. The staff was actively making people who were waiting in line for their friends without buying tickets leave the line so it kept the line moving pretty quick. Only ended up waiting like 25 minutes. The Oni vibe of the place is pretty cool in my opinion.

I waited in a pretty brutal line to get in, but once I finally had the ramen, it felt completely worth it. The bowl was exactly the kind of comforting, bold meal I was hoping for at Karashibi Miso Ramen Kikanbō Ikebukuro. I’d gladly put up with the queue again for something this satisfying.

If you like spicy ramen, this is the place to go. They give both red chilli oil and sansho to make the soup a fiery yummy dish. To top it off, the pork belly is so so tender that you dont have to really chew on it. There is often a queue but it is so worth it.

I was visiting Ikebukuro and walked past this restaurant with a really long line, so I decided to join in. The wait was quite long—about 40 minutes. When I finally got in, I ordered their signature ramen in the extra-large size and chose the spiciest level. The broth was rich, flavorful, and spicy in a very delicious way (perfect for me since I love spicy food). The noodles were soft and chewy, the chashu pork was well-prepared, and the toppings included bean sprouts, green onions, and baby corn. The portion was huge, but I ended up finishing everything because it tasted so good. I really liked how you can customize the spiciness, noodle texture, and portion size to your liking. Just a tip: if you plan to visit, make sure to allow extra time for the line—it gets really long!

It's a really busy place but well worth the wait. It's a great ramen place, flavor is special and the meat is slow cooked very well and results in a very flavorful plate. You need to pay in cash and in advance, then do the line. They have a tiny bathroom inside in case you're wondering. Even though they don't have a kids plate, the basic plate would do, however a kid won't finish it for sure.
