Incredibly good kaarage. Very tender and flavorful. I got both chicken thigh and chicken breast and liked both. Miso soup was also great. I went early there to avoid queue as its a very small restaurant

Went here for dinner on a weekday. The place was small and dimly lit but it was still comfortable. There were several counter seats available inside. They also have a takeout area outside. The staff here was nice. I ordered the Salt Chicken Broth Ramen with 1 pc Garlic Karaage. It was delicious especially the Garlic Karaage. It was flavorful & crunchy. We really enjoyed our meal here. Will definitely be back and try something new from the menu.

Best karaage ever, the size is worth the price. The pickle suits amazingly with the chicken. And the miso soup is heavenly

Very sorry to have eaten and rushed out as I didn't want to stop the next couple from enjoying your great food! It makes me so happy to see your business success, with the long queue forming. These people must know it's worth waiting for. Flavour is perfect. Meat is incredibly juicy. And although I forgot to order my usual 'menma', you remembered for me! Thank you! Still the very best! The different flavoured fried chicken is delicious! Service was very patient and helpful. One of the best meals in Tokyo! <edit> Had to make a return visit before leaving Tokyo and it still easily ranks as a favourite! Tried a spicy chicken this time (as well as the breast/thigh mixed set) and it was just as delicious. Definitely worth the visit - cannot wait to return again. Best place for fried chicken - hands down! <edit Nov 2023> Cannot praise Ichiban Karaage enough - still THE place for fried chicken (best I've had without exception and I've had a lot). We dined-in and also bought take-out including a variety of dishes. Favourites include the signature garlic fried chicken (thigh meat), signature ginger fried chicken (breast meat) and the spicy fried chicken wings. <edit Nov 2024> New updated menu - exploding with flavour is the new "Garlic Back Fat Chicken Set Meal". Accompanied by a mountain of cooked veggies, this was a lovely addition. Also new to the menu is the curry chicken pieces. Bite-sized pieces of fragrant spiced chicken. Delicious. All the usual favourite menu items are still there with one exception - the garlic french fries have been deleted (tragedy). Still simply the best fried chicken anywhere in the world! <edit 25 Nov 2024> Another new dish - soupless soba. Another tasty addition. The place is really narrow, small, and dim, but the food is absolutely amazing. The karaage was so crunchy. I have never had such crunchy karaage before, and let me tell you, it was a life changing experience. Not only that, but the chicken was juicy too. Even after I dipped my karaage in the sauce, it was still very crunchy. The miso soup and tsukemono were also great. The rice was a little mushy though. I wouldn’t recommend the “店長おすすめ” set though because the karaage is way too big. Due to that, there isn’t enough batter surrounding the chicken to give it a nice crunch. If you want life changing karaage, then this place is a must!
