Inside the ticket gates of JR Komagome Station — when I passed by during a transfer they were having a time sale, so I bought some for a late-night snack. The ten-grain rice takana was a little spicy and delicious, the edamame and shibazuke one had plump, nicely textured edamame and was delicious. 30% off, a good deal.

It's inside the ticket gates of Komagome Station, so it's easy to stop by during a transfer or on the go. I went around 2pm, and maybe because the lunch peak had passed, I could buy smoothly without waiting. This time I bought a shrimp tempura musubi and tea. The tempura batter is seasoned and goes well with the rice. It's pressed on the softer side, with a subtle saltiness. Compared to convenience store onigiri it seems a little small, but the rice has a firm texture so it didn't feel lacking. There's a wide variety lined up in the showcase, and even at that time there were plenty of options. Before the evening commuter rush starts, you can choose relatively leisurely, so I recommend it. Very handy when you want to eat quickly.

An onigiri specialty shop operating mainly in JR East's ekinaka spaces and enjoying tremendous support from many people They're thoroughly committed to a fluffy, perfectly balanced press and a handmade warmth, and the secret to the taste is their carefully selected domestic Aizu Koshihikari rice For the salt, which is key to the flavor, they use sea salt from Okinawa, drawing out to the fullest the soft sweetness and deep umami inherent in the rice Because the rice is carefully cooked every day in the in-store kitchen and each one is shaped with care, the deliciousness isn't lost even after time passes and it cools down, and a big feature is the homey gentleness you can feel This time I visited the shop inside Komagome Station on the Yamanote Line, and what really impressed me was the attentive service that let me choose at my own pace without rushing me, even as I took my time weighing up the wide variety lined up in the showcase The menu ranges widely, from unshakable classics like salmon and ume to seasonal limited items that make use of each season's ingredients In particular, the value set of two onigiri with juicy karaage and pickles is hugely popular as a meal on busy travel days or as an easy lunch This time I bought two: the flavorful ten-grain rice grilled salmon mentaiko for 270 yen, and the classic grilled salmon for 250 yen The toasty aroma and poppy texture of the ten-grain rice harmonize beautifully with the savory salmon and the zingy accent of mentaiko, with satisfaction growing with every bite The classic grilled salmon, too, with its moderately fatty flesh bringing out the sweetness of the rice, was a very refined creation, simple yet with the high quality of the ingredients standing out Being able to casually pick up quality onigiri that seem to carry the warmth of their makers, even in a bustling place like a station, could be called the greatest luxury in a busy daily life Combining the convenience of a quick stop between trips with the uncompromising quality only a specialty shop can offer, this is a wonderful place that fills both heart and stomach, and one I want to keep visiting from time to time

Honnoriya Komagome' is right by the ticket gates of JR Komagome Station, in Komagome, Toshima-ku, Tokyo. It's a cozy little takeout-only Japanese food shop, and what they sell is, boldly, 'onigiri only.' The way they're neatly lined up in the showcase is like a gallery of rice, and you can't help but stare. That day I chose salmon and mentaiko. The deft way they quickly wrapped them up after I ordered is very ekinaka. Taking a bite, I was surprised by how gently it falls apart. Onigiri pressed too hard get a heavy texture, but these are light, with air worked in. The salt is restrained, and the sweetness of the rice really stands out. The fillings go all the way to the center, too, very satisfying. The only products are onigiri. Even so, there's still the fun of being torn between choices, precisely because the ingredients and the work are so careful. The reason I want to go again is the reassurance of being able to take home 'properly delicious onigiri' even on busy days. If you're looking for takeout onigiri in Komagome, Honnoriya Komagome is a reliable go-to.

🍙🌸 Honnoriya Komagome ― a soothing ekinaka 'freshly-made healing spot'🍵✨ 🚉 A small onigiri specialty shop right by the ticket gates of Komagome Station🍙✨ Easy to drop by before work in the morning or on a walk to Rikugien, it's a location perfect as a 'commuting companion'🚶‍♀️🌿 🍙 Freshly-made warmth and a gentle taste From classics like 'benizake (red salmon)' and 'tuna mayo' to 'takana' and 'kombu,' every one is softly pressed with a gentle flavor💖 The rice grains hold their shape, moist and chewy✨ The salt is just right, and true to the name 'Honnoriya,' it's a comforting kind of delicious😊 The balance of fillings is good too, and the care comes through in every bite🍵🍙 ⏰ Speed & convenience are the appeal! An onigiri + miso soup set makes a quick breakfast☀️ Being able to stop by on busy mornings or between transfers is a nice plus💼✨ However, depending on the time, there can be a line and fewer items left💦 👩‍🍳 Service and atmosphere The staff are cheerful and polite🌸 What stood out was how they served with a smile even during the hectic morning rush😊 The space is compact, but it's a takeout-focused style that's easy to use🚄🍙 💭 Points to note Prices feel slightly high, but considering the handmade feel and quality, it makes sense✨ A slightly bigger lineup would make me even happier🍱 🌸 Summary A 'little relaxing spot inside the station' where you can take a breather🍙🌿 A place to feel palm-sized happiness before a trip or before work🍵✨ 🌟 Overall rating: ★3.7 / 5.0 🌟 An onigiri specialty shop with fluffy rice and a gentle saltiness that sinks in🍙💖 It delivers a comforting taste of Japan amid busy daily life🌸🍵
