My first visit was at the sister salon, and this time was my second visit, at the main salon (same stylist). The first time they did a lovely job on my cut and color, so the second time I asked for a perm as well. It was a huge failure. When I look in the mirror I'm so sad I could cry. I'm posting before and after photos (the one in red clothes is the after). I have a layered lob cut, and I style it with a curling iron, with one inward curl on the outer layer and one outward flip on the inner layer. My order was a perm that would "make styling with the iron easier, help the curls hold better since they go flat over time, and make the ends easier to play with." So we agreed not to make it wavy, and to do the perm as one inward curl on the inside and one outward flip. I also told them that since I wanted the curls to show clearly when dry, it was fine if the curls came out a bit strong when wet. As for the result, after blow-drying, it was so frizzy I couldn't possibly go outside. When showing me the finished look in the mirror, the stylist said "It's gone kind of wavy around here~," but I didn't ask for that. Waves formed in strange places, and it looks like frizzy natural curls. Also, the cut was done before the perm, but maybe to adjust the finish after the perm, my hair was thinned out quite a lot, and part of my bangs is now sparse. The stylist also seemed awkward, so wasn't it a failure? It's better if I style it with the iron as usual, but it takes more effort than before to get rid of the weird kinks. The overall volume balance is off, and the shape after styling looked nicer before. It's a perm, so it can't be helped, but it feels like all I got was damage. I don't want any more damage, so I'll have it fixed at another salon that can remove perms without damage. I explained the situation over the phone, and they said they could remove or redo the perm, but refunds weren't possible. Maybe I should just have the perm removed at another salon and at least have Happy Berry fix the cut, but when I look at my hairstyle I get so sad that I just can't bring myself to go there. I was a repeat customer and the salon has a nice atmosphere, so it's a shame. Addendum Later, when I had the perm removed at another salon, I was told that achieving the style I ordered with a perm is quite difficult. If that's the case, I think it was either a lack of consultation or a lack of skill, and if there was little chance of it turning out as I imagined, I wish they had recommended a different treatment.
View on GoogleAfter the treatment(?), I was left waiting for a while with my hair still wet. During the cut there were no check-ins on progress or anything; it just went on mechanically. They cut it shorter than the length I ordered, it ran past the end time, and the styling was sloppy without even asking my preferences. Never going again.
View on GoogleI like the salon's atmosphere, but being made to wait 30 minutes past my reservation is pretty rough. I ran there so I wouldn't be late, and then waited 30 minutes…… Watching customers who arrived after me get called in one after another also bugged me. I felt like I was being treated carelessly in small ways. If it were a cheap place that'd be one thing, but since it charges normal prices, I end up expecting a matching level of service
View on GoogleIt was a hair salon I really liked and planned to keep going to, but on one reservation day I was made to wait 30 minutes. I figured they must be busy and waited since there was nothing else to do, but after 30 minutes my stylist came over and the first thing they said was "Good evening~ what are we doing today?" lol I instinctively checked my reservation time. (It was correct) They were very pleasant and I liked them, but even in the conversation afterward, there was never an apology for the delay, right to the end. I ended up being the very last customer, so when I said "Sorry for keeping you so late," they said "Oh, not at all~ lol," and something just didn't sit right with me, so I stopped going. What do they think people's time is.. 5 or 10 minutes happens a lot, so even if I'm not happy about it I'd let it go, but for 30 minutes I at least wanted to hear a simple "Sorry for the wait." I really wanted to keep going there, so it's a shame. Also, this wasn't my stylist, but the person who dried my hair instead (probably not even an assistant?) dried it in a way that shook my head and pulled my hair to a weird degree, which surprised me.
View on GoogleA hair salon that makes you feel really comfortable When you walk in and they take your bag for safekeeping, they give you a small pouch for your personal items, so thoughtful. The design on the pouch is the shop's dog For drinks you can choose coffee, green tea, or black tea (both iced and hot available) The cut and shampoo were very attentive, highly recommend~
