Ramen Butayama Otsuka Branch is a gatsuri-style ramen specialty shop featuring extra-thick noodles and rich soup. It is easy to access from the station, a 4-minute walk from the North Exit of JR Yamanote Line Otsuka Station, and is a recommended shop for lunch or dinner. The soup, slowly cooked from a large amount of pork, back bones, leg bones, and back fat, is a rich and addictive taste that layers umami using the recall method. It goes perfectly with the extra-thick noodles with a "washi-washi" texture using strong flour (ocean). A bowl full of slowly simmered melt-in-your-mouth chashu combined with plenty of vegetables is very satisfying. Since the amount of garlic, fat, and vegetables can be adjusted to your preference, for those who want to eat heartily, or yourself...

First of all, the employees only speak japanese, so if you can't, you have to use a translater. I ordered the large size(there is small, large and extra large) extra pork(gives 5 slices not 2. +200yen) ramen. The amount of noodle was amazing, and so was the amount of bean sprouts. The pork was very thick and satisfying. I would say that some people could consider the menu too greasy and salty, but for me, it was just amazing. The price was 1280 yen, which is a little expensive for regular ramen, put considering how much topping they serve, I think it was cheaper than expected. Would highly recommend ordering the small size with extra topping because I had a hard time finishing the large size due to the sheer quantity of the noodle.

Today I was completely and utterly slain by this ramen. Overestimated my hunger and underestimated the amount of food they can fit into a single bowl. It was a terrible, delicious mistake. The menu is pretty straightforward -- three sizes of noodle and three of pork. The "small" here is 250 grams of noodles, which most places would call at least a large. "Mini" is 125 and is probably what I should've had because the bowl is also piled high with bean sprouts and thick cuts of pork. And then there's the garlic. Oh man. So they ask how much you want and the normal scoop is like, I dunno, three or four cloves? It's a lot. And by the time you're down to the bottom of the bowl, the broth it's a garlic slurry that punches you in the face with every bite. Tl;dr a delicious monster that was twice as much food as I can comfortably eat.

What a great find!!! The pork was so tender, flavourable broth and very reasonably priced. Loved the veggies breaking up the salt and adding texture.

Tasty ramen with lot of vegetables. My husband and I went to try it and we both are unable to finish the ramen as the small portion is huge to us . However, we both love the ramen broth and will like to try again .
