Founded 25 years ago. A 3-minute walk from Mejiro Station, 'Bistro Ami' is located in a hideaway place, entering the T-junction to the right after getting off the elevator from Mejiro-dori. It is an Asian izakaya bistro where you can enjoy Japanese food using seasonal ingredients, centered on body-friendly Chinese cuisine using Japanese dashi. Inside the store, a mural inspired by Bali, created by painter Toru Kamei, spreads out, creating a warm and homey space. A variety of dishes finished with Japanese dashi (kelp, bonito, shiitake) and special homemade sauces are lined up, and the umami-spicy soy sauce and homemade doubanjiang on the table are also popular. The rice is carefully cooked 'Yukiwakamaru' directly from Oyama Farm in Yamagata, and we are particular about the aroma and texture. Drink menu...

All of the food was very delicious! The staff don’t speak English but they are easy to communicate with and are very willing to talk through translations apps. Highly recommend!!

This is a stylish and clean shop in Noge-koji. I thoroughly enjoyed the gibier (game meat) dishes. Everything from the appetizers to the main dish was delicious. There is a meticulous attention to detail in every item, resulting in a deep and flavorful experience. I also appreciated the delicate seasoning and the selection of ingredients. Furthermore, there is a sense of playfulness in the presentation, making the food both delicious to eat and to look at. The pairing with wine was also exquisite, making the meal and drinks flow smoothly. It was a standard course, but it was reasonably priced, and I was able to spend an incredibly luxurious time.

A legendary Asian bistro near my alma mater. Although the soba shop in the semi-basement halfway down the Mejiro slope and the Chinese restaurant in Zoshigaya had closed down, this place was still operating as usual, giving me a sense of relief as if my hometown was still there. I ordered goya chanpuru, boiled dumplings, and nasi goreng. Usually, it's a portion for 3 or 4 people, but the student working part-time told me, "If you tell the owner, we can adjust it however you like." Everything was just right and satisfying. The conversation with the owner was also fun and nostalgic... I hope a shop like this stays around forever...! Thank you for the memories and the fun time.

The shop exudes the kindness of the owner, Ami-san, and it is very friendly and comfortable. The food is also very delicious, satisfying both the heart and the stomach. I can't wait for the jukebox, which is currently broken, to be restarted!
