Review: Cheese Mix & Teriyaki Mayo Bakudan-yaki at Ikebukuro Tasting the Cheese Mix and Teriyaki Mayo flavors at Bakudan-yaki Honpo (Ikebukuro Flagship Store) made for the ultimate rainy-day street food experience. These giant, 200-gram "bomb" takoyaki are massive—roughly the size of eight regular takoyaki rolled into one—and biting into them piping hot while raindrops poured outside was pure comfort. * The Cheese Mix: Topped with an avalanche of bonito flakes (never had so much on a takoball before) and rich melted cheese, this version offers a gooey, savory depth. As you dig past the exterior, the cheese blends seamlessly into the piping-hot, molten core. Bonus sausage and quail egg awaits! * The Teriyaki Mayo: A fantastic sweet-and-savory classic that pairs brilliantly with the rich, stew-like filling hidden inside. The combination of the sweet teriyaki glaze and creamy mayonnaise cuts through the rich batter effortlessly. Because these aren't your average bite-sized balls, they eat almost like a hybrid between a crispy takoyaki and a rich, ingredient-packed monjayaki. Getting them straight off the grill on a cold, wet day in Ikebukuro turned an ordinary snack stop into a memorable highlight. Massive, comforting, and packed with flavor—an absolute must-try street food when you are exploring Ikebukuro!
View on GoogleFirst off - the pictures don’t do this one any favours. Pretty much impossible to make this look good. But it’s a very tasty, gooey, and varied box of takoyaki excitement, with corn, a quail egg, tons of bonito flakes, and some nice octopus chunks. It’s filling for the price as well.
View on GoogleI have never seen this big takoyaki with various of fillings before so it’s a very new experience. The food was hot, quick ,and good but a little bit too rich. For people who said it looks unappetizing ,that is not true and the takoyaki is quite amazing even when you take pictures of it.
View on GoogleI'm only able to taste the mayonnaise only(no others flavour), meanwhile the impression when i open my food was like a puke from some one. Service staff was friendly. Atmosphere when average and consider clean
View on GoogleGiant takoyaki (7cm diameter), hard to get any good photos of it. Has fillings other than just octopus (cabbage, egg, sausage, carrot.) They also have gatchpon machines for little fake versions of their menu.
