I visited at dinnertime on a public holiday. The restaurant retained a lovely old atmosphere. It filled up shortly after I entered, and several groups could not get in. It seems to be a local favorite. All the food was delicious, and the staff were pleasant too. Counter seating available. Smoking allowed indoors. Cash payment only.

First visit. The high ratings from a few years ago are completely unreliable. They said the oden daikon was large and priced separately at 500円, but the utterly ordinary daikon in the photo cost 500円. Other dishes are quite expensive too, more like a small specialty restaurant's prices than an izakaya's. Plus a 10% service charge. The taste is ordinary, but at these prices, good food should be expected. I would not call it a rip-off, but I cannot recommend it except to people who like being able to smoke or paying high prices to get seated immediately. For reference, the 4 oden items pictured, the appetizer (two nanbanzuke fish), and shochu cost about 2600円. It seemed like a textbook example of a once well-regarded restaurant going steadily downhill. The terrible recent reviews make sense.

From the outside, it looks like a hidden retro spot. It is about a 2-minute walk from カラオケ館. The interior is not very large, but it filled up as time went on. The place is famous for oden. There was a yakitori curtain in the kitchen, so I thought they had yakitori, but it was not on the menu lol. I really liked the elderly proprietress. She was kind even when a drink was knocked over, and I felt a real human warmth. My companion said the karaage was outstanding and ordered 3 plates. I will include the menu in the photos.

It is in a fairly inconspicuous location, but it was a place to enjoy delicious oden at affordable prices◎ The daikon was so large that it alone filled me up! We requested assorted sashimi, and they put together a nicely balanced selection that was very delicious!! All the staff were energetic and attentive, making it comfortable(^^) You can enjoy drinks at leisure too◎ There were plenty of dishes besides oden, making it a homey place to enjoy various foods◎

An izakaya near Ikebukuro's east exit. It is not very noticeable, and honestly I did not know about it. Inside, there is a nostalgic Showa-era atmosphere. It felt strange that I had never noticed it before. We ordered yakitori and sashimi, and everything was delicious, but apparently oden is their specialty, so we immediately tried it. They especially recommended the daikon, so I ordered it without hesitation. It came topped with tororo kombu and was delicious!! The other oden ingredients were cheap and delicious too!! Maybe it is the delicious dashi after all? The flavor is light, but thoroughly soaked in, and in winter you can enjoy the unbeatable combination of alcohol and oden♪ I think it is quite a hidden gem. There are counter seats and tables, so whether alone or with others, it was a comfortable place. It is one of those places I hope will always be there♪
