This is a nice street for walking and soaking in the local atmosphere, with lots of traditional shops selling all sorts of food, desserts, sweets, local handicrafts, and pet treats. An easy walk through, the street is about 500-800m walk, and lined with shops on both sides. Anticipate lots of street food, desserts, or simply a lovely stretch for some street photography. A worthwhile visit if you are visiting Tokyo and have about a day to explore. Most shops open after 11am. The area sits between two train stations, Sendagi station on the Chiyoda subway line and Nippori station on the JR line.

A lovely walking street with a great atmosphere. It’s not too crowded, and there are plenty of food shops along the way. Perfect for a relaxed stroll and trying local bites.

It's must visit place. I advise to go by walk from Ueno Park, it is like 30 min. You can see all the typical houses that offer you a different perspectives of caos and huge buildings of the city center and financial districts. There are convenient shops and restaurants.

Overcrowded and maybe catering for the tourist a little too much. Overpriced beers at 1030am anyone? Obviously yes but no. Plenty of other alternatives in Tokyo with charm and old school atmosphere. Nearby cemetery is huge and peaceful with not too distant views of modern day Tokyo. Also many hidden shrines, temples and cute buildings off the main streets.

Yanaka Ginza offers a refreshing escape from the bustling crowds and modern cityscape of Tokyo. Visiting on a Sunday morning was a wonderful experience, with a relaxed atmosphere that allowed us to leisurely stroll through the charming streets. The area is filled with hidden gems, from quaint local shops to delicious street snacks that make exploring even more enjoyable. It provides a glimpse into a more traditional side of Tokyo and feels worlds apart from the city’s busy commercial districts. A truly memorable visit and one that I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a unique and authentic Tokyo experience.
