12 seat onigiri joint with deep history. Two rice balls made to order with a generous sheet of nori, takuan, and miso soup - base price ¥1000. No frills. Worth it for the experience, but I wouldn’t wait 40 minutes again to get in.

Simple & Authentic! Great spot for breakfast. Checked out this historic onigiri spot for breakfast today and ordered the Salmon (Sake) onigiri. The flavor was spot on—perfectly seasoned, warm rice, and high-quality nori. Definitely worth a visit if you are looking for an authentic local breakfast in Asakusa!

I happened upon Onigiri Asakusa Yadoroku and stopped by, keen on trying freshly made onigiri. I arrived around 11 AM and faced about a 25-minute wait in line, followed by another 10 minutes to receive my order. The service was bilingual, polite, and efficient. Note that the restaurant is cash only. The decor evokes a traditional Japanese izakaya, featuring tatami seating with zabuton (cushions) and wooden counter chairs with straw seats. The onigiri is served warm and is generously stuffed with the selected filling. The fillings were flavorful and the selection was wide, though the size is comparable to a convenience store onigiri. My only critique is that I would have personally preferred the rice texture to have a bit more bounce and be less soft, but it was well-made nonetheless. Overall, if you're in the Asakusa neighborhood, this spot is definitely worth a visit.

Great lunchtime onigiri at Onigiri Asakusa Yadoroku. We arrived at 1pm and put in our name and told us to be back 20 minutes later for a spot for 2. Small seating space, about 14ppl at max capacity, best is alone or 2 for easy/fast seating. Really good onigiri, Nori is super tasty and the rice is perfectly sticky. The items you get to choose from are excellent quality in this 70+ year old onigiri store (1954)! Recommend if you're looking for a great onigiri meal.

We really enjoyed dining here when we were in Asakusa last December 2025. The staff/owner were really professional and their service was good. The onigiris were very delicious. As a tourist, it was definitely one experience you should try, dining in this onigiri restaurant. ☺️
