I had the beef stew with rice and melon soda, the beef stew is tasty but there were only 3 pieces of beef, one of which was mostly fat.

Ambiance is amazing. Service is good. Food is okay but overpriced. I ordered the beed stew that they had since 1935 but I was pretty disappointed. It was too salty and purely fatty beef. I think it's not worth JPY 5000.

This shop is inside Matsusakaya Ueno, and once you step inside, an elegant and calm space spreads out so much that you forget you are inside a department store. The calm atmosphere where time flows slowly is perfect for a lunch as a reward for yourself or a meal with an important person. The staff were also very gentle, and the polite and kind service was very impressive. Thanks to this detailed hospitality, I was able to relax from beginning to end and enjoy the meal with a luxurious feeling. This time I ordered curry and omurice, both of which were truly delicious in an orthodox Western cuisine style. The curry had a deep taste and concentrated deliciousness, and the omurice also had an exquisite egg finish, and it was a high-level dish that somehow felt nostalgic. This is a famous shop that is definitely recommended when you want to enjoy high-quality cuisine in a calm atmosphere around Ueno. When I want to eat delicious Western cuisine again, I definitely want to visit again.
