I was looking for a café where I can take a quick work call while traveling and saw this on Google Maps. There were only a few people when I arrived. It was easy to order from their menu even though I don't understand Japanese that much. I wished I could have stayed longer too because apparently people could drink and play board games but I felt quite shy since I don't know any Japanese at all. I would definitely love to come back and interact with locals and fellow travelers if I have more time!

Amazing board game cafe with a great selection of games to play, friendly and helpful staff and a cozy atmosphere. The owner was walking around the tables explaining games in both English and Japanese. The coffee was also great, but we didn't try the food.

I had a wonderful experience at u-cafe! I was a foreigner visiting Japan, looking for Japanese board games when I came across u-cafe. I came in the middle of a weekday. I happened to visit before they opened the store to the public, but the owner noticed my family and I looking in and opened up the cafe for us. He was extremely nice, offering us drinks and outlets to charge our phones, showing me games for sale, and even giving us recommendations for places to eat in the area. He is a board game designer himself and showed me a couple of his games. I ended up buying two of his games because they looked really neat, but as I left, I forgot to grab a promo card for one of the games that he offered me for free. He realized I forgot to take the promo card a couple of days later and he went out of his way to personally hand-delivered the card to the hotel we were staying at on the other side of Tokyo! We were beyond appreciative of how nicely we were treated while at the cafe and even days after! They were so accommodating and we had a great experience overall!

Absolutely delicious meals and drinks, and although Japanese may not be your first language it’s very easy to order with the QR code and converse with the staff who are very welcoming and helpful. Thank you!
