The atmosphere is calm and quiet. The staff aren’t particularly friendly, but they cook incredibly well. so it was totally fine. I ordered the curry with tonkatsu, and the portion was huge. The rice was moist and paired perfectly with the curry, and the seasoning was just right. The tonkatsu itself was delicious too. But what impressed me the most was the miso soup that came with the meal. Is it called “tonjiru”? Am I right? I loved it so much that I want to try making it myself when I’m back in Canada. It was rich, flavorful, and really memorable. I enjoyed everything. thank you for the great meal! 🍛

My recent visit to Tonkatsu Aoki, nestled in the charming district of Asakusabashi, unfolded as an extraordinary culinary voyage that exceeded all my culinary expectations. From the moment we stepped inside, it was apparent that this dining experience would be unlike any other. The unique ordering process required us to make a payment and receive a token from a machine. It was a novel approach that piqued our curiosity. After a brief wait, our long-awaited meal was elegantly presented before us, featuring a harmonious trio of soup, rice, and the pièce de résistance – Tonkatsu. The very first bite was a revelation, a burst of flavors that left me pleasantly astonished. The dish was nothing short of exquisite, and it was thoughtfully accompanied by a crisp, fresh salad and a soup that was nothing short of delectable. What truly set it apart was the use of Himalayan salt, which added a unique and delightful dimension to the flavor profile. Each and every bite was an ode to culinary excellence, a testament to the skill and dedication of the chefs. The service we received was exemplary, characterized by attentiveness and a genuine desire to ensure a memorable dining experience. The restaurant's ambiance was equally impressive, with an unwavering commitment to cleanliness and tranquility. Tonkatsu Aoki is unquestionably a haven for those who seek to indulge in exceptional cuisine amidst a serene setting. My visit to Tonkatsu Aoki was not merely a meal; it was an extraordinary gastronomic journey that will remain etched in my memory. I eagerly anticipate returning to explore more of their culinary masterpieces. If you are in search of a place where each bite is an adventure in taste, look no further than Tonkatsu Aoki.

I love their Tonkatsu here! They recommend to have it with salt (three kinds). I especially like their ロースカツ (pork loin).

I have been getting tonkatsu from other Tonkatsu Aoki locations for over half a decade now, but this location is the worst. The male staff has an awful attitude and speaks to customers differently or simply ignores some customers based on his own whims. He will completely ignore some customers who may be new to the store, or from outside of Japan, while loudly greeting the next customer who he knows. He bangs dishes around when washing them and has loud conversations with the other staff, but when customers he doesn't like enter or leave he simply looks at them in silence. I went on a weekday night and the store was half empty, so it wasn't an issue of being too busy either. Usually the food at Aoki tonkatsu locations is excellent, but I think the bad attitude here is reflected in the food as well and the tonkatsu pork, and soup are all not as good as expected as a result. It was overly fried and somehow still undercooked, the mustard was stale, and the soup was thick but without flavor.

Honestly me and my mother was just looking to eat somewhere near the church of St.Paul sonce the mass starts a bit later and it was the nearest we found open. This tonkatsu place was so good!!!! The best tonkatsu we ever had! We still talk about this place when we went apr 2023. We surely would love to revisit again 🥰
