I wasn’t impressed with the food and service tonight, the crew simply doesn’t take Korean bbq seriously. They offered to grill my meat… and it was overcooked yet they are on their mobile without paying attention to my meat. I was struggling to finish the food as I wasn’t enjoying it. Tonight I paid for ¥4800 approx USD31 It was a disaster. No wonder there wasn’t anyone in the restaurant. I was expecting almost the same service level like the South Korea unfortunately it wasn’t the same. These people never been to South Korea and they will never understood the true Korean Bbq! I’m very disappointed with the experience! Do refer to my photos. The meat was overcooked and the crew were on their mobile. Totally unprofessional!

Fell in love with Tonchang the first time I visited their Shibuya branch. I love how juicy the meat is and I really like the side dishes they served. Price is very reasonable. For Ueno branch, they may improve on the costumer service side. If you’re not assertive enough, you’ll have to wait for quite a while to get the staff’s attention. (Maybe because the place is always packed) Anyhow, I like Tonchang’s system and the food they serve so that makes up for the service. Will definitely head back to this restaurant. Though we might choose a different branch this time 😁

Bibimbap was good. However, menu clearly said it included beef and it did not. Please either change the menu or include beef for real. When I asked the waiter, I did not get a straight answer. The worst thing was the cleanliness. There were cobwebs on the wall (where we had our backs to...) and the floor was dirty and blackened. One positive thing is the waiters were very polite.
