If you’re in Okachimachi and love tanmen, Tomishiro is an absolute must visit. This place has quickly become my regular spot.I find myself coming back at least once a week, and for good reason. The taste is simply incredible. Every bowl feels thoughtfully crafted, with rich, comforting flavors that never disappoint. Whether you go for a lighter, clear broth or something a bit more bold, the quality is consistently top tier. What truly sets this place apart is the atmosphere. The shop has a calm, relaxed vibe that makes it easy to unwind and enjoy your meal. It’s run by a husband and wife duo who are always welcoming, friendly, and genuinely warm. Their constant smiles and hospitality make every visit feel special. Just keep in mind that they’re open for limited hours lunch only but honestly, it’s worth planning your day around it. Highly recommended. A true hidden gem in Tokyo ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
View on GoogleWe ordered the chicken ramen large with pork which was great. The noodles were very good but the pork was definitely the best part. Will need to try the spicy ramen next time

View on GoogleI love the texture of ramen here.
View on Google富白 apparently reads とみしろ. About a 3-minute walk from exit 1 of Tokyo Metro 「仲御徒町駅」/Toei 「上野御徒町駅」. About a 7-minute walk from the south exit of JR 「御徒町駅」. About a 14-minute walk from the main entrance of JR/Tokyo Metro 「上野駅」. If you're driving, there is no free parking on site, so you'll need to use a nearby paid parking lot. 「ザ・パーク 台東3丁目第2」 is right next to the restaurant. Its rate is 200 yen/15 minutes, every day from 0:00-24:00 (maximum rates available). The owner runs the place alone, with 6 counter seats and 2 tables seating 4 each. It uses a meal-ticket system (cash only, denominations of 1000 yen or less). Since he works alone, he may not be able to respond while busy. There are 3 main menu types: chicken salt ramen, chicken salt tanmen, and spicy chicken salt tanmen, with variations depending on whether you add pork chashu. The summer tsuke-tanmen menu wasn't available yet. As for noodle quantities, the ramen uses thin noodles, with 150g for regular and 210g for large. The tanmen uses thick noodles, with 150g for regular and 220g for large. The tsukemen apparently uses thin noodles, with 180g for regular and 250g for large (no broth dilution and no hot-noodle option). We arrived at 12:36 on a Saturday in March 2026. About half the seats were empty, so we went straight in and sat down. This time, my companion and I both chose 「鶏塩豚入り辛タンメン1000円」. It was served at 12:55. As for the spicy chicken salt tanmen with pork, the broth is a very gentle chicken paitan. It has a deeply nourishing flavor; of all the ones I've tried, this broth has the lightest, simplest finish. If you choose spicy tanmen, they pour their special chili oil over only half the bowl, so you get to enjoy both chicken paitan and chili oil, which feels like a good deal. The chili oil has an initial kick, but it's only mildly spicy, so I think anyone could eat it. The noodles are medium-thick, curly, medium-hydration noodles made by 浅草開花楼. They have a chewy texture that I thought paired very well with this broth. The toppings are 3 slices of seared pork belly chashu, along with bean sprouts, carrots, cabbage, and wood ear mushrooms that seem nicely cooked in the broth. I thought there were about 200g of vegetables. There is salt and black pepper on the table to use as you like. The owner is unassuming and provides good service, and I think the restaurant has a lot of atmosphere. As mentioned at the beginning, he runs it alone, so making change or clearing dishes may sometimes have to wait; I hope people will be understanding about that. Above all, I think this is Tokyo's gentlest tanmen restaurant. Definitely a tanmen you should try.
