Our favourite experience so far in Tokyo. Grandma was so hospitable and was so kind to us. We had great conversations and food, not to be missed

Stumbled across this tempura shop exploring the Ueno area. The shop is close to Okachimachi station. Entering the shop it gave us a break from the hustle and bustle of Ueno. There is various types of tempura on the menu to select from, but we eventually settled for the 松 TenDon which consisted of prawns, fish, conger eel and seasonal vegetables. The sauce is of a special type - slightly sweet and not very salty - tasty yet not overpowering allowing the flavours of the natural ingredients to be enhanced! During our time there, the owners (mother and son duo) were very attentive to our needs! I would definitely recommend this place!

it was the best place on my trip to tokyo. the owner is very friendly, and all the dishes were great. i ordered tendon with eel, they cook right after the order comes in, it tastes really fresh and not greasy. the shoyu sauce they made their own is so savory. i want to visit there again on my next trip. :)

This was such a lucky find. The tempura was super fresh with so many ingredients. Chef also used a special Japanese vegetable called fukinotou (蕗のとう)which is a butterbur. Everything was prepared beautifully and it was super delicious. I ordered the 3000 yen Tempura set lunch. Highly recommend this family style restaurant.
