Lunch at Sunaba, a long-established restaurant in Okachimachi. This time I ordered the mori soba and tanuki-don set (1000 yen). This price is a great deal with the mini bowl included. The soba has a firm texture, goes down smoothly, and is simple yet highly satisfying. The tanuki-don is cooked with egg, the slightly sweet sauce is well-incorporated, making the rice delicious. Overall, the volume is good, just the right amount of satisfaction for lunch. A recommended restaurant if you want to eat casually but well.
View on GoogleI visited for lunch. It's crowded every day, and sharing tables is common. If you arrive right after 12:00, you can get in smoothly, but after that, you might have to wait. The restaurant is bustling with office workers from the area. I ordered the "Zaru Soba + Mini Curry" lunch set for ¥900. Both the soba and curry were voluminous and very filling. The soba noodles are a bit white, perhaps Sarashina soba? They go well with the dipping sauce and are easy to eat. The curry isn't the typical soba shop style, but rather a homey taste, a nostalgic flavor that reminds me of my parents' home in the countryside. Currently, they seem to have a limited-quantity "Shirasu-don + Soba" set. A perfect soba shop for daily use.
View on GoogleThe soba has almost no aroma, but the thinness of the noodles and the chewy texture when bitten are comfortable and to my liking. Large portion 800 yen. The quantity is quite large.
View on GoogleI visited before 12:00 so I was able to use it immediately. Food is served quickly after ordering, so I think it's a good place for lunch. Since there are no single seats, if you are dining alone, there is a high possibility of sharing a table (eating at the same table as someone else). I had Tamagodon + Soba, and I think the taste is average. The portion might be a bit large... (weekday lunch is 850 yen). It's nice to be able to eat soba and donburi together for around 1000 yen at lunch.
View on GoogleI had the katsudon and kake soba set for lunch. The pork in the katsudon was tough and disappointing. The soba is normally delicious, so next time I will order something other than the katsudon.
