There are many Chinese restaurants near Hongo-sanchome Station, but personally I think this one tastes the best. Lunch is around 800円! It comes with rice, soup, salad, and more, so it's a generous, filling meal. Super delicious. There are 2 downsides: the wait is long (about 20 minutes after ordering), so you need time to spare, and if you go alone you'll share a table. I think it's a very good lunch option.
View on GoogleThere's quite a line at にし乃. So I decided to try here. I've known it was around for ages, but it didn't look particularly appetizing from outside, so I'd always passed it by. The heat was unbearable. About 70 percent of the seats were occupied. I ordered the ginger pork set. It came right away. Both the rice and ginger pork were generously portioned. There wasn't much meat, and it looked like a meat-and-vegetable stir-fry. I dug out some meat and tried it, and it was quite tasty. There was chopped fresh ginger in it. The seasoning was good too. The price was affordable at 800円.
View on GoogleThere are lots of Chinese restaurants in Hongo-sanchome. They're known for being cheap with generous portions. Among them, this was my first visit to 姉妹. It's in a back alley a little away from the busy lunch area. As a result, it wasn't crowded inside and felt relaxing. Today I ordered black tantanmen. I gave in to the temptation of a free large noodle portion and ordered large. The fragrant sesame and numbing Sichuan pepper flavors were nice. The medium-thick noodles had the chewy texture I like. Another nice point is that noodle dishes come with a mini fried rice. This might be a hidden gem. I'll visit again. Thanks for the meal.
View on GoogleIt seems to have been closed sometimes lately. I thought it was run by sisters, but they seemed more like a married couple. The food was tastier than expected (sorry). Mostly male customers. I'd recommend it to women too if you don't mind sharing a table when it's busy. Payment was cash only, perhaps because it was lunchtime.
View on GoogleVisited for lunch. Ordered Taiwanese beef brisket noodles. Wow, delicious♪ At ¥900 these days, it's a real bargain too. The spring-roll-like thing that came with the set wasn't great, but everything else was very satisfying.
