Found this restaurant just around the corner from the Asakura Museum of Sculpture. Luckily, there were 3 of us, so we were able to try all 3 unagi dishes. Honestly, it turned out to be one of the highlights of a 14-day trip. It’s a lovely little mom & pop storefront, with all dishes prepared and served by them. We felt quite honored to have found it. It’s a gross understatement to say the food was amazing. It’s such an intimate and delicious experience, and every time I go to Tokyo, I will go again.
View on GoogleDelicious lunch! Even if you think you wouldn’t like eel, if you are in Tokyo you must try this food. The grilled eel and clear soup was excellent here. An authentic, unassuming storefront. English menu. Lunch came with pitcher of cool tea.
View on GoogleA very small, local unagi restaurant with only 4 tables. Very delicious with various ways of consuming unagi. I had the Nagoya specialty called hitsumabushi where you have it first with unagi and rice only, then add toppings, then add broth like ochazuke, and finally your favorite way. 4300 yen. A regular unagi bowl runs between 3100 to 4900 yen, depending on size.

View on GoogleI wish the fish was little more smoky-flavored from char-grill.
