One of my favourite dining experiences I had in Japan. The loveliest couple run this sushi restaurant - the fish was fresh and excellent quality. Gorgeous cypress wood counter. We had wonderful conversations using google translate and felt very welcomed. We even asked the couple what their favourite dishes were, and they happily prepared them for us. We ate, laughed, learned, and watched baseball together - the hospitality here was heartwarming. These are the type of interactions and memories I love most about travel, please support this business!

This is a wonderful little family-run sushi restaurant with truly delicious fresh fish. It was a wonderful place to stumble upon for one of our last meals in Japan. The owners were so kind and welcoming and the meal was incredible. Definitely a hidden gem.

We had a lovely experience at Sakuyama tonight, the sushi and sashimi sets were top quality and the owners were so welcoming and kind to us! We were able to communicate using some English/Japanese and were able to have more thorough conversations using google translate. I would highly recommend anyone to have dinner here, each set was around 3,000¥. Watching the baseball game with the owners was an added bonus to our experience!

Great sushi. It’s s very cute couple just doing what they love. They are very nice people and it’s in a quite area. They have menu with pictures that makes easy. The food was great and the place is also lovely. We almost didn’t eat here because it had few reviews, but I really recommend if you are in the area!!

It’s hard to find a place like this in Tokyo. Run by an elderly couple who love sumo and like to chat. The husband is the sushi chef and his wife serves the customers. The experience was very homely and personalised! The menu was a simple set of sushi or sashimi. Just enough for what the two of us needed. I’d recommend this place for anyone looking for a charming dining experience.
