This café is a renovated Showa-era public bathhouse completed in 1928. While preserving traces of the past such as the attendant's booth, shoe lockers, and Mount Fuji mural, it offers house-roasted coffee and homemade ice cream made with seasonal fruits. Hot sandwiches are available for meals. It's also close to Asakusa and Ueno, so please stop by while exploring. Weekdays are relatively quiet, allowing you to relax. This retro cafe has such a unique vibe as it is in an old sento (bathhouse). The entry still has all the lockers for your shoes and the back room has the empty baths that you can take pictures with. I had a tuna melt and coffee and it was so delicious, the tuna and cheese were perfect and the bread was crunchy and buttery (a rare find in Tokyo!) this place is great if you want to have a peaceful coffee with a friend.
View on GoogleI really enjoyed my time here. The fact they’ve turned an old bathhouse into a cafe is a novel idea, and it works. The high ceilings, old wooden interior, and history lesson make it a very unique experience. They service drinks and sweets and it seems they have a non static menu. I ordered a drip coffee and a butter anpan (あんパン), which is red bean paste and butter. It was served warm and was solid. The coffee was good too. Service was fast and friendly. Worth your time.
View on GoogleThey were one of the most unique and charming cafes I’ve visited in Tokyo. The space was a beautifully renovated sento, and the moment I stepped inside, the old bathhouse architecture, wooden lockers, and vintage details created a nostalgic and calming atmosphere. It felt like stepping into a different era, but with the warmth and comfort of a modern neighborhood cafe. I ordered the Grilled Cheese Tuna Melt, blueberry ice cream, and their black coffee made with beans from Yunnan, China. The Tuna Melt was excellent, perfectly grilled with a crunchy exterior and a satisfyingly chewy texture. The balance between the toasted bread, melted cheese, and savory tuna made it comforting and memorable. The blueberry ice cream was vibrant and refreshing. The deep purple color matched its rich berry flavor, and it offered a nice contrast after the warm sandwich. The coffee was another highlight. The Yunnan beans had a clean bitterness with a subtle earthiness that paired really well with both the tuna melt and the ice cream. Served in a simple white cup, it fit perfectly with the calm, understated vibe of the cafe😍
View on GoogleWe waited for almost 1 hour, and still no sign of people coming out from the shop, we gave up. No staff outside at all. Will come back again next time. The place is located in quiet area and the food looks good. The waiting area is okay but not a lot of spaces to sit. My friend told me that this place used to be bath house, and it has been there for more than 100 years, now it's a cafe. They still keep the door with the typical 男 女 writting on door. Like bath house, you have to remove shoes before entering the hall.
View on GoogleThis was an excellent Cafe that a YouTuber I follow recommended. The space is absolutely beautiful since it used to be an old bath house. They've restored it lovingly and made it a special space. The food and drinks were also excellent. We both had the soup set which had a lovely mushroom soup and delicious salad. The sweet potatoes on the side were just okay. We both really enjoyed the coffee jelly lattes though. It was an interesting take on a drink and the additional lemon was a nice touch. I ended up eating part of the lemon too 😂 I also decided to try the chestnut ice cream since that's one of my favorite flavors and it was a seasonal offer. It was really good. The texture was a little grainy for ice cream but I kind of enjoyed that about it. Not icy, but rather you could tell there's actual chestnut in it. I would love to come again to try the other ice creams and just chill in the space. What was really cool too is that you could take a tour of the onsen portion of the cafe as well as long as nobody else was working there.
