I was having lunch and ordered the lunch set here. The miso ramen + spicy fried rice. Miso ramen was served in less than 5 minutes. Super delicious for me. I am a fan of strong flavour. So, i bet if you are like me, you will fall in love with the soup. I had tried to mix it with the chilli sauce. Not my kinda favourite, but the ground black pepper is really another level of taste buds enlightening. The fried rice... if you're not into spiciness, DON'T TRY SPICY. The fried rice is superb! You might want to add some in house blended garlic 😉 . It's an adventurous move. The additionally ordered dumpling is a must try. Crispy on the outside, juicy in the inside. Just a reminder, the noodles portion is enough for 2 persons. So plan well, reserve more space for others local delicacies.

If you're looking for a great ramen spot in Asakusa, Ramen Benkei is an absolute must-visit. This was actually our first dinner in Tokyo, and it set some seriously high expectations for the food for the rest of our trip. Thankfully Tokyo delivered, but Benkei remained one of our favourite meals! The ramen was incredible- rich, flavourful, and incredibly satisfying. The broth was packed with flavour, the noodles had a great texture, and the portions were much bigger than we expected. We left feeling very full and very happy. The staff were also lovely and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. As tourists, we really appreciated how friendly and accommodating everyone was. The restaurant had a great atmosphere too, and the music playing in the background was good too, adding to the overall experience. Whether you're stopping by for dinner or a late-night bowl of ramen, this place is well worth a visit. For us, it was the perfect first meal in Tokyo and one we'll remember for a long time.

never thought there would be bad ramen in tokyo until i came here i know it sounds rude but the service really made it feel deserved we ordered three bowls of ramen and none of us could finish even half because of how greasy it looked and tasted it was not just the ramen either all of our bowls were oily even on the underside so it felt like the staff just did not care also somehow me and my friend received the same order though we ordered different things the funniest part was when my friend ordered an extra egg i saw him do it since he handed over two little papers but the lady did not believe him and asked for 120 rupees which was confusing since last time I checked we were in tokyo i was thinking of giving two stars but by the time we walked home we all felt greasy and uncomfortable from just half a bowl on a more positive note they are open pretty late which is nice so if you are out at night and need something to eat you are better off walking a bit further because there is a 711 nearby in a few minutes

If you're rambling around Asakusa and suddenly get hit with a serious ramen craving (especially late at night), you have to check out Ramen Benkei. This place is open till 4 AM, which is a lifesaver for night owls! I love the vibe here. It's got that classic, cozy corner shop aesthetic that just feels right. The service is genuinely warm and friendly, and they are extremely tourist-friendly. They have staff who speak English and an English menu, so there's no need to stress about ordering. Ordering is done through a vending machine, which is standard for a lot of ramen joints. The machine only accepts cash, which you insert and hit the button for what you want, after-which a printed ticket pops out. The buttons are in Japanese, but they have a handy laminated sheet with English translations right next to the machine to help you figure out which button to press. Once you're done, just pass that ticket to one of the waiting staff. The food and the speed is where Benkei really shines. My ramen showed up in less than 5 minutes, and the star of the show is definitely the soup. It's hearty and rich with pork back fat. If you like a good tonkotsu with a bit of extra punch, this is it. The noodles were absolutely perfect too as they had that great texture that holds up to the heavy broth. Be warned that the portions are HUGE. Seriously, I think even their "mini" ramens are big enough to completely satisfy a very hungry adult. They offer three types of soup; shio (salt), shoyu (soy sauce), and miso. I found the miso version to be a little too rich and almost cloying after a few bites, but the shio and shoyu versions were absolutely amazing. They have a variety of condiments on each table and you must use the minced garlic. Seriously, a generous spoonful of that stuff elevates the soup to a whole new level. Don't skip it!
