An excellent Japanese adaptation of Indian-style curry with great options. The serving size was quite generous, especially in terms of the amount of chicken meat, and the flavour was delicious. The prices were a pleasant surprise as well. Please note that this place appears to be quite popular, so you may want to come a bit earlier before the opening hours, especially on the weekend, to make sure you can get a seat without too much waiting.

View on Google5 minutes on foot from Okachimachi Station, a small place with about 7 counter seats A two-curry combination of chicken curry and keema curry 1500円 Pickled takana and chili powder are on the table A salad is served right away, with a little potato salad. The chicken curry has very restrained heat, mellow richness, and a gentle flavor The keema isn't very spicy considering its 3 chili symbols Both curries are surprisingly thin and go down easily A welcome complimentary tea after the meal Last time I came, the owner handled everything alone, but just having a female staff member changes the atmosphere
View on GoogleI had something to do in Ueno last weekend, and craving 🍛, I stopped at 『ラッフルズ カリー/raffles curry』🚃 Inside there are only 7 counter seats. I sat at the end and first looked over the menu 👀 Several dishes caught my eye, but since it was my first visit, I ordered the top-left item, 『おすすめ!チキンカリー 950円』💡 While I was checking the pickles and chili on the counter ✅, it arrived in about 10 minutes 🍛 The curry sauce felt relatively mild, with restrained spices ✨ Naturally, the 🍚 went down easily too 😋 It was full of tender chicken chunks that seemed to have been slowly simmered... Partway through, I added pickles and chili, enjoying it to the last bite 🎶 The iced tea afterward was a soothing moment 🫖 Thank you for the meal 🙏
View on GoogleA curry specialty restaurant on the main road between Okachimachi and Shin-Okachimachi. I'd been curious for a while, but it seemed to have been closed for some time, which worried me. I'm glad it appears to have reopened. It's a small place with only about 10 counter seats, run by the owner alone. The menu centered on chicken, mutton, and vegetables, with various combinations and daily specials, but I ordered 【おすすめ!チキンカリー】900円 It was served in about 3 minutes. The set comes with rice and a curry pot containing pale-colored curry and a huge amount of simmered chicken. The curry is delicious, with mild spice aromas, a mellow mouthfeel, a hint of acidity, and the savory flavor of chicken. The chicken is cooked until fall-apart tender, with a soft, juicy texture that I enjoyed with the curry. Partway through, I enjoyed changing the flavor with the acidity and freshness of pickles or adding chili powder for extra heat. Above all, there was truly so much chicken. No matter how much I ate, it never seemed to disappear: chicken heaven. As I was nearing the end of the meal, the owner offered tea. I asked for iced tea, and it was wonderful, with a deep tea-leaf aroma and richness. I savored that moment after the meal. There were many female customers; perhaps this curry, which brings out the quality of its ingredients, is winning people over. Next time I'd like to add vegetables.
