My favourite hot-spot in Ueno, when I'm back in England I spend years missing my personal favourite. Order number 8 - the squid tempura hot soba, with a can of Asahi. Its simple, its delicious, its warming, and nothing beats it.

Small and cozy soba restaurant just next to Ueno station. We went there for lunch and were surprised to see that you had to order from a ticket machine. We were a bit confused on how it worked, but the staff was super friendly and helped us! The food was ready very quickly and it was hot and delicious. The vegetable tempura was so good!! I really recommend this place if you're looking for a quick, authentic japanese meal.
