An eel specialist handling two types of live eel: thick, rich 「extra-large eel」 and 「carefully selected eel」 chosen by the wholesaler's expert eye. Extra-large eel is extremely difficult to prepare, but with 「a specially adapted initial grilling technique (top secret)」 and 「a specially adapted steaming technique (the most closely guarded secret)」, we want people of every generation to enjoy thick, rich extra-large eel, made easy to eat through 「specially adapted cooking methods and deboned eel」. Ordered one half-size and one full-size unagi. While I found the prices a bit higher compared to other spots, the quality and experience were still enjoyable. The service was attentive, with constant top-ups of hot green tea especially appreciated on a cold day. The unagi itself was incredibly soft, tender, and delicious paired with the rice.

This lovely upstairs restaurant in Ueno exceeded all of our expectations! We had been talking about eating eel and really had not found any place interesting. We were looking at clothes at the store across the street and decided to give it a try. We were actually treated like they were happy to see us. Restaurant was pretty crowded and they led us right in. Easy to order, little English was necessary. So super yummy!!

Nice unagi place with solid unagi over rice. The options are simple, just a couple different sized with different amounts of eel. We got the 3/4 eel option for about 3000 yen per set. It was adequate I thought, in terms of eel size, food ratio etc. Try putting the green powder seasoning on. It's green Sichuan pepper spice I believe, very interesting combo.

Came here for the eel innards. Ordered 2 of the assorted skewered grilled innards set and it was an absolute delight. One set is 900 yen which is a bargain for domestic eels raised in Japan and not imported from Chinese farms. First time I tried unagi dorsal fin, it was fatty and juicy packed full of umami. Intestine and liver are separated on their own stick and are also delicious in their own way. Highly recommended for unagi lovers.

Unagi amateur, I was looking for both good eel and a good experience. The waitresses were fantastic explaining me how to best consume the unagi depending on either ordering the kabayaki or shirayaki. Menus are clear and in English. Highly recommended
