鰻の成瀬Naruse’s Unagi Higashi-Ueno
東上野店 (Unagi no Naruse Higashi-Ueno) is an eel specialty restaurant where you can casually enjoy authentic unaju in the Ueno/Higashi-Ueno area. Our unaju, made with carefully selected eel and grilled to a fragrant finish, is enjoyed by many customers at both lunch and dinner. While cherishing Japan's unique eel culture and the appeal of Japanese cuisine, we strive for a simple, easy-to-understand menu so that guests from overseas (English- and Chinese-speaking) can also dine with peace of mind. Recommended for a meal between sightseeing or as a Japanese food experience. Easily accessible from around Ueno Station and the Higashi-Ueno area, suitable for all kinds of occasions such as sightseeing, business, and family meals. "…

This grilled unagi speciality shop has 3 categories of grilled unagi (regular, deluxe and super deluxe) in 3 sizes (1/2, 3/4 and 1). If undecided like me, you can get the deluxe in 3/4 size for your unajyu. The grilled eel was delicious; perfectly balanced between meaty yet tender, with the right amount of sauce. The rice was high quality, with perfectly rounded grains to pair with your eel. The set is served with condiments of wasabi and green onions as well as pickles and ginger. You can choose to have your eel by itself, with wasabi and green onions (the unagi pairs really well with wasabi) or sansho pepper. Service was excellent. We came at 5pm upon opening and were immediately seated and served shortly after. Highly recommended if you are in the area and looking for a grilled unagi.
View on GoogleThis was our first of many memorable meals when visiting Tokyo. We arrived after a long day of travel and the Unadon was so delicious and comforting. Thank you for the meal 🙏
View on Googlenice and calm restaurant. The time I did my solo dining was Friday night - a bit showering raining outside. Not too crowded. Nice and clean. The staff is full of service mind.
View on GoogleDelicious, and we got a table instantly. Great if you have a sesame allergy—the only part that has sesame are the pickles, which are served on the side (which is why my picture doesn’t have pickles).
View on GoogleCan’t overstate how good the unagi bowls are. At such reasonable prices too. Def recommend.
