Rude owner. I tried to go inside one night and was refused even though there was open seats.
View on GoogleI never expected to find food this delicious in Yushima! It defied my expectations in a good way, lol I’m giving it ★5, which I rarely do. Even the otoshi is on another level.
View on GoogleEarly 2024.12. I had curry udon for lunch. First, the proprietress? was handling service alone, which made me feel unsettled just watching. As for the curry udon that arrived, the curry was spicy (maybe it just didn’t suit my palate). Even though it was winter, I couldn’t stop sweating. Also, the small rice was tiny… about the amount you’d offer at a Buddhist altar. I’m not certain, but the udon noodles seemed exactly like packaged noodles… limp and without any chew. Only the pork pieces inside were thick, but I don’t want to pay 900円 for this.
View on GoogleWhile out on sales calls, my companion said, “I want curry!” so we went to a famous? curry shop nearby, only to find it unexpectedly closed… We gave up and were looking elsewhere when we spotted “curry udon” on a sign outside a restaurant. Since it was still “curry,” we decided to try it. We were shown to a tatami seating area with sunken footwells, and when I looked for a menu, all I could find was the evening snack menu written on the wall. I realized later that 「みずたさん」 apparently serves only 1 menu item at lunchtime. So the system is that once you come in and sit down, the food arrives automatically. And that day, it happened to be “curry udon.” After a short wait, some delicious-looking “curry udon” arrived! Personally, I’m not especially fond of soba-shop-style curry udon, so this slightly spicy curry got a thumbs-up from me〇 The udon wasn’t too soft, had a nice chew, and went well with the curry〇 The fried tofu was thoroughly infused with flavor too〇 If I had to point out one thing, the portion left me wanting more I’d appreciate being asked whether I want a large serving before they make it. (I did ask partway through, but the reply was rather unenthusiastic: if I could give them time to boil 1 more portion of noodles. So I gave up (lol)) The lunch menu seems to change daily, so I hope I can try a different udon next time. I’d like to stop by again when I’m around Ueno.
View on GoogleI tried this place for the first time with a friend♪ The interior was Japanese-style, with a raised seating area that can be partitioned into private rooms and larger tables with a spacious, relaxed feel😃 The softly playing ♪ BGM was Western music from the Showa era, and that contrast was nice too👌 Everything we ordered was delicious I really liked how it felt like no corners were cut with any of the dishes🤗 I’d definitely like to visit again.
