Small, warm restaurant, open for dinner & Saturday daytime by appointment only.

Located in the Asakusabashi, Akihabara, and Okachimachi area, "Minoya" is an authentic Japanese course specialty restaurant that is gluten-free & vegan friendly. The owner, who trained at a kaiseki restaurant, serves Japanese course meals made only with seasonal vegetables without using any meat, fish, or eggs. Nothing is pre-made; everything is prepared over 3-4 hours just for the number of customers arriving. We have received great reviews such as "It tastes just as good as regular Japanese cuisine even without meat or fish," and have been introduced on TV multiple times such as on "Tameshite Gatten" and "Adomachi Tengoku." Reservations are required (deadline the day before). Both lunch and dinner are available only as course meals.

We loved this restaurant so much, from the cute residential area, to the delicious food made with care and the wonderful atmosphere in the restaurant. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Tokyo (also to get some vegetables in) The food was delicate, tasty and not too soy heavy which is common for vegan cuisines. Also order the tempura, it was light and delicious!

I came here a year ago for lunch with a coeliac friend. It was my most memorable meal in Japan and I think about it all the time. The menu was entirely vegetarian and had great gluten free options. It’s a tiny hole-in-the-wall restaurant, where you can watch the chef preparing each course while you eat. Every course was prepared with such care and thought. The chef was very lovely. The food was impeccable. The whole experience has a special place in my heart and memory for Japan. I can’t recommend it highly enough ❤️

First time trying a full vegetarian course. Booked through Amex pocket concierge and take advantage of the global dining credit offer. A very small restaurant with one table for four and a couple of counter seats. The chef is very friendly and will try to explain in English. Absolutely a gem in Tokyo and the food was exceptional. You will need to book as they do not accept walk in. Highly recommended

You need to make a reservation for dinner. It's reservation only for dinner time. I did it through pocket concierge since I am afraid of calling these days due to the language barrier. The dinner course is a well thought course from the beginning to the end. It uses seasonal veggies and japanese flavors. Therefore there are lots of sesemi, miso flavour, great for summer. The pace of the meal is very good. There is almost no long break between dishes. There are 9 seats in the restaurant in total. 5 bar seats and 4 table seats. I normally don't like intimate restaurant cuz it's intimidating for introverts. But I think I am fine with this experience that conversations are all pretty quiet and some light music built a comfortable atmosphere. I will definitely visit again and recommend it to my friends visiting Tokyo!
