Always have their Aka Maru Teishoku (lunch set)! Usually 800 yen and gets you 3 different dishes with rice and miso soup!!

My favorite teishoku restaurant in all of Tokyo. Especially considering the price.

I went in for the first time a few minutes before lunch service ended. There's a famous tonkatsu restaurant next door, so this place tends to go unnoticed. This time I chose the tuna nakaochi and 3 kinds of kushiage set meal. As other comments mentioned, for some reason the small side dish was tonjiru. Since I was the only customer, I could see what was happening in the kitchen, so I'll comment: they carefully heated just my portion of the almost brothless tonjiru side dish in a pot. The shijimi clam miso soup, however, was microwaved. The nakaochi main dish was a surprise. There were only enough fish slices for about one and a half pieces of nigiri sushi. As for the kushiage, fittingly for a restaurant that features it in its name, each skewer was carefully dipped in batter, coated in breadcrumbs, and fried individually by the counter after ordering. What surprised me was that the skewer for the fried kisu had branch-like cuts in it, showing very detailed work. The set meal was a little unsatisfying in quantity, but it felt nice to enjoy a leisurely lunch at an otherwise empty counter.

It felt clean, the service was good, and the food was delicious ✨ The dishes reflected the season, and I could relax. The owner and his wife also had a lovely manner that made me feel comfortable. If I had to mention a downside, many à la carte items had sold out during lunch, making them difficult to order. Perhaps the owner is shy, as he quickly disappears into the back, so I found myself wondering when the food would come and what else to order. Thanks for the meal.

So delicious, it's a place I'd like to visit every day. All the lunch set meals are delicious. Outstanding black cod and sashimi sets. Dinner features a kushiage menu. Carefully prepared and very delicious. I Recommend this Japanese restaurant! Very good and nice for your everyday.
