It's like walking into a very private living space. If you're looking for old school quiet and civility, go here. No photos allowed inside, as one would expect.

Everytime I go to Tokyo I go to this quite peaceful place. Food is nice and cozy on a rainy day. Lots of cat figures, average customer service. Maybe you wouldn't like it because its not fancy but I LOVE the vibe. Try ramen and beer, it's enough for a meal and go again to explore district.

Don’t go here to if want to use the toilet even though you’re a paying customer and don’t expect a free refill on tap water.

When I first peeked inside, I thought it was an antique shop. The interior is somewhat sticky from years of accumulated grease. I ordered hiyashi chuka, but the seasoning wasn't particularly distinctive. I ate it without any issue. First-time visitors will probably hesitate as soon as they enter. The menu prices are generally low. I think this reflects the owner's efforts to keep going without raising prices for years. Other reviews seem to criticize the shop's signs and attitude, but given its location in Asakusa, isn't it possible they've had many troublesome customers over the years? I can't criticize them.

I was a little nervous after reading the Google reviews😅 Sure enough! This place taught me that experiencing the reality for yourself matters more than other people's ratings. I ordered chashu ramen and fried rice. The chashu ramen soup was really delicious, and the noodles were pretty good too. The chashu was thick, with 5 slices, and I was completely satisfied! All this for ¥750. Absolutely fantastic. The fried rice was gomoku chahan topped with imitation crab and shrimp, with a perfect balance of flavor and ingredients, and it was very delicious. All this for ¥650. They served cold water as usual too. Even to be polite, I couldn't call the inside of the shop clean!😅 But it had that Showa-era old-town feel, and I found it very comfortable. In times like these! I'm grateful that they keep the shop open while maintaining these prices and this taste. Personally, it's now one of the places I want to visit again😊
