This little hole in the wall is always full of cheerful, noisy crowds at night, so I stopped by during the calmer lunch hour. Very good shoyu ramen, and about a million other options on the menu, and at a really reasonable price! (This bowl was 520 yen.) Plus, the shop owners were extremely friendly and welcoming. I’ll definitely be back soon!

View on Google2025.07 Inexpensive with generous portions. A neighborhood Chinese restaurant loved by regulars. First visited around 12:00 on Saturday. We were seated immediately without waiting. 【What we ordered (for 2 people)】 ・Chukadon set (with gyoza・soup) ¥1,120 ・Miso ramen ¥700 ※Total for 2 people ¥1,820 【Food】 The first surprise is how inexpensive it is. The portions are substantial and leave you full. The miso ramen had a nostalgic flavor reminiscent of school lunches, for better or worse. Personally, it wasn't really to my taste. The gyoza similarly felt outside my preferences. The chukadon had plenty of thick sauce and lots of ingredients. Despite its appearance, the seasoning was restrained and I found it easy to enjoy. 【Atmosphere】 The interior has well-worn counter and table seating, with a calm atmosphere frequented by regulars. The lady running the place was friendly and comforting. I'd be happy to have a place like this in my neighborhood. 【Overall】 An excellent balance of price and portion size. An unpretentious neighborhood Chinese restaurant that's just right for everyday visits. Perfect for anyone who wants to “eat cheaply and get full.
View on GoogleI went in just before 2 in the afternoon on Saturday. There were about 3 customers at the counter. I was the last lunch customer, and shortly after 2 they had already taken down the noren curtain. I ordered daily special A. Some kind of vegetable stir-fry set. It was delicious. 上野 has lots of authentic Chinese restaurants run by Chinese people, and not many run by a Japanese couple like this, so it feels kind of nice. Nobody was smoking, but there were ashtrays, so I think smoking is probably allowed.
