Kiwamiya in Ueno is a great choice for those who appreciate quality charcoal yakiniku with a focus on the natural taste of the meat. The highlight of the meal was definitely the Japanese pork, especially the pork belly and loin. The meat was fresh, beautifully marbled, and very clean in flavor. Grilled over real charcoal, it developed a nice smoky aroma while remaining juicy and tender inside. The seasoning was kept simple, allowing the quality of the pork to truly stand out.
View on GoogleWe love this place. Came back every year. The staff is super friendly and welcome foreigners. Grilled beef and intestines were superb. Various alcoholic drinks. Recommended.
View on GoogleWe were looking for a yakiniku place and stumbled upon this one along Ueno. The wagyu was absolutely delicious! The store serves a lot of unique parts of meat cuts if you’re feeling more adventurous. Sauces are delicious and sides were also super yummy!
View on GoogleFood and service are fine, just be aware meat portions are quite small. Slightly Smokey inside. Otherwise enjoyed the experience.
View on GoogleDelicious, high quality meat at this old school yakiniku joint. It's a classic, legit Ueno spot full of grit and grime. Get yourself a Hoppy Set, a bunch of skirt steak, chicken thighs, beef tongue, eringi, onions, and some guts and you'll be in heaven. There's an English menu but it leaves off a lot of good stuff.
