Really simple morning soba/udon shop that hits the spot. The store owner was really nice to us, he realizes that we couldn't read the Japanese menu and provided us with an English one. My wife tried #1 which was the mixed bowl and I tried #5 which was the squid body. Mine was so good I finished literally everything in my bowl, including the soup. The owner actually laughed when he saw that the bowl was completely empty 😂 I told him it's because it was so tasty. Cash only, pay after he provides you with the bowl. Has a nice local vibe to it. It's a simple meal but one that really hits the spot!

View on GoogleThe manga “Soba Gyaru to Ojisan” Kawaichi in Akihabara, which appears repeatedly in the story The shop is a little over a 10-minute walk from the Showa-dori side of Akihabara Station It's right near Mitsui Memorial Hospital It's only open on weekdays until 2 p.m., so visiting takes a bit of effort I went just after 1 p.m. on a weekday; it wasn't crowded and I got in straight away You eat seated rather than standing, Payment is cash only, and the chilled-water dispenser was around the middle of the counter There are tissues and a trash can at the entrance too The manga describes their meat soba made with Kannonike Pork as so delicious it makes you cry, So I wanted to try it and ordered the meat soba (800円) Cash only, payable when the food arrives Maybe because they simmer the meat and broth in a small pot, It was piping hot with so much steam! There was simmered pork and green onion, and the noodles were fairly thin and soft First, a sip of broth (a soup spoon was provided) Sooo good! That dashi is incredible! It might be among the best soba shops I've ever eaten at The meat was tender and delicious too! (I'm out of words) It felt wasteful to leave any, so I finished everything, broth included I'd like to say I'll try the tempura next time...but I'll probably order the meat soba again lol
