Visited around 17:40 on July 4, 2026 While leisurely strolling through the alleys of Yanaka, I came across a stylish design shop that made me stop in my tracks. The exterior had a refined feel, and honestly I was a little nervous, thinking, "Is it okay for me to go in?", but since I was there anyway, I worked up the courage and opened the door. Inside, there was a whole lineup of pieces with the warmth only handmade work has, along with unique interior goods, small items, and artworks packed with the designers' attention to detail. Each piece is like something at an art exhibition, and just looking around is plenty of fun. It's not a shop lined with identical items; everything felt "one of a kind in the world." When I said "Hi, how are you?" as I walked in, they replied "Hello!" with a smile, and the service was very pleasant. The two staff members, who seemed to be a married couple, spoke very fluent English, and it felt a bit like visiting a shop overseas. Combined with the calm atmosphere throughout the shop and the tasteful displays, I got to enjoy "the feeling of browsing an antique shop abroad while being in Yanaka." I spent about 20 minutes slowly looking around, but it felt like a waste to leave empty-handed, so I bought one rabbit-motif postcard (220 yen including tax). I fell in love at first sight with its unique, three-dimensional design. On my way out I said "Thank you so much!" and left the shop; it was a wonderful time that left a pleasant afterglow. Yanaka has lots of charming shops, but this is one that left a particularly strong impression. It may feel a little intimidating at first, but that's part of this shop's charm. If you take the plunge and open the door, a warm atmosphere and wonderful works will welcome you. If you're strolling around Yanaka, please do stop by at least once. I'm sure you'll find a piece you love. *This time I'm posting a photo of the rabbit postcard I bought. I hope it's helpful.
View on GoogleWent in alone around 12:30 on a Saturday I liked a flyer I'd gotten at Nippori Station before, so I went to see the exhibition It's a two-story gallery Small and cozy I talked a lot with the artist I didn't know the classification "mycoheterotrophic plants" Apparently they gave up photosynthesis A world still full of mysteries It reminds me of Minakata Kumagusu I'm curious about what they'll do next My rating criteria 3 A place I want to go again 4 A place I've been to 4 or more times

View on GoogleA cozy, lovely little atelier. The staff are very kind. Yanaka Ginza shopping street is nearby. There are several coin parking lots within walking distance.
View on GoogleA gallery in Nippori. I went there from JR Nishi-Nippori, but the route from JR Nippori, which I used on the way back, is livelier and lets you enjoy strolling around town, so that's the route I recommend. The layout of the venue is unusual, and since different people's exhibitions are held on the first and second floors, I encountered works I wouldn't normally come across and had a worthwhile time. The area around the facility is full of shops perfect for a stroll, so I recommend visiting it together with a walk around the neighborhood.
