Coffee Hatoya is a lovely little spot where you can experience the real local side of Japan. It feels like the kind of place locals genuinely go, rather than somewhere created just for tourists. The café is family-run, and you can really feel the warm Japanese hospitality in the friendly and welcoming service. The atmosphere is simple, cozy, and authentic—perfect for slowing down and enjoying a cup of coffee while experiencing everyday neighborhood life. Just remember that payment is cash only. A charming hidden gem for anyone looking for a genuine local coffee experience.
View on GoogleOne of the best spots to grab coffee and something light. The moment you step inside, you can feel that cozy warmth. At the same time, the place has this welcoming, clean, timeless “old vibes” charm. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to slow down and just enjoy the moment. Please come to enjoy.
View on GoogleCozy old-style Japanese kissaten run by a lovely elderly couple. I tried the egg sandwich, pancakes, and hot blended coffee — all tasted like simple home cooking in the best way. The atmosphere feels nostalgic and authentic, and prices are very reasonable. Cash only. I uploaded photos and videos if you want a feel of the place — definitely worth a stop.
View on GoogleCame across this cafe while I was walking along the street in the afternoon and decided to try their pancakes and coffee. The pancakes was adequately fluffy but slightly overcooked on the surface, giving it that charred flavour. The coffee was okay. My only real gripe was that the seats are pretty small which can be quite uncomfortable for the burly, or maybe it's just that I don't conform to "Japanese dimensions"...
View on GoogleCame here for a quick break and sat inside for around 15 minutes and enjoyed my coffee. As a Melbournite, we know our coffee and it wasn’t too bad. Prices were okay. It high for my level but that’s Japan and what I expected. Staff were friendly and knew enough English to make e ordering process easy. Wheelchair accessible. Kid friendly.
