Note:seems to be open by 8am and worth the wait for jet lagged customers. Simply the cutest most delicious Sando shop you can find in all of Japan. The desert sandwich and the savory sandwiches were both 10/10. The owner comes to greet customers at the ring of a bell. It was maybe the cutest experience I’ve had so far in Tokyo.

Lady running this sandwich stall was incredibly kind and welcoming. Even if you don't speak any japanese she will try her best to strike up a conversation with you. I felt very welcomed. I told her I was from Canada! Sandwiches are prepared with care and are very delicious. I highly recommend tourists in this area to try sandwiches from this stall!

Tucked away from the main touristy areas you’ll find this phenomenal sandwich shop. Many sweet & savory options. The owner was extremely welcoming & kind to us especially since we don’t speak Japanese.

A modest window from which some of the best sandwiches in Tokyo are served. My daughter loved the jam and cream; the egg salad was my favorite (and the shrimp croquette sandwich was excellent too!). They're all great though, and very inexpensive – and always served with a smile. Absolutely worth the short walk from most Ueno-area hotels for a quick breakfast or lunch, and you can sit at the park a block away and enjoy them. Usually a 5-minute wait, but always worth it.

Please visit here! If you are staying at any of the many hotels nearby Ueno Station, don't pass by Harapeko Sand! We stayed in Ueno for 6 days and visited Harapeko Sand twice. Both experiences were so delightful and really brought us foreigners in for a good local experience. The shop owner was wonderful and welcomed us with a large smile. She was very patient with us foreigners and her food was such a treat. Thank you, Harapeko Sand.
