Gentil, an Alsatian restaurant we wanted to try as I'm from Alsace. The service was excellent and the atmosphere inside is very authentic. It was genuinely enjoyable to find familiar cultural elements in Japan, from the tableware to the decor. The tarte flambée was a bit average, it lacked some cream and cheese, likely adapted to Japanese tastes, but still enjoyable. The choucroute, on the other hand, was quite good. The cabbage had the acidity we expect, even if the garnishes were slightly less impressive, but still more than acceptable. The Gewurztraminer I had was also very pleasant. Overall, a good experience, especially if you’ve been abroad for a while and want a taste of home.

View on GoogleAdd 2nd visit photos I’ve heard good reputation about this Alsauce restaurant Very casual setting like cafeteria but the food here is carefully prepared restaurant quality I would love to come back !
View on GoogleThe restaurant specializes in food from Alsace, and they follow the regional style fairly well. However, I would consider the dishes only average, since I live in Alsace myself. In addition to adopting French cuisine, the servers seem to have adopted the Parisian “waiter attitude” as well. The service was the worst I have experienced at any restaurant in Japan—arrogant and unapologetic, reminiscent of Parisian waiters. Not a good reminder. Moreover, the restaurant does not allow you to order only water; each person must order both a drink and a dish. I would not return to this place. But if you don't mind the service, it can be an interesting experience of Alsacian food in Japan.
