We had the pasta special and it was amazing, the best pasta in ages! I enjoyed the red eye beer and finished with the Épinal wine 🤩 congrats to the chef and barkeep. The waitress was super kind and warm-hearted, the nicest person we have met in Japan. Totally recommend this place if you are in the area ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
View on GoogleGood food, good service, the couple that owns the place is very cute
View on GoogleVery delicious Italian food, not expensive, managed by a couple, very kind and serve the guests with heart
View on GoogleThe interior is compact, with about 5 counter seats and 3〜4 tables seating 4 people. It was run by a woman handling the dining room and a man in the kitchen. This time we ordered ・Tomato-based seafood pasta ・Japanese-style pasta with oil sardines, mushrooms, and scallions ・Seafood pizza The tomato-based seafood pasta had a tomato sauce full of shrimp flavor that clung well to the piping-hot noodles, with a taste that felt somehow nostalgic. The oil sardines were simple but let the quality of the ingredients shine, and the seafood pizza had a good balance of toppings; everything was consistently delicious. The vinegar drink I ordered was mild in acidity and easy to drink, though it felt somewhat closer to juice. Overall, the food was very satisfying, and I enjoyed a leisurely meal in a calm space. I think it's just the right place to spend some relaxed time with someone you get along with.
View on Google☆Recommended highlights☆ ①Hearty omurice packed with onions ②A homey atmosphere that makes it easy to keep coming back 【Budget】 1,000〜2,000円/person (lunch) ※Cash only 【Recommended occasions】 Solo・with family/friends/acquaintances/coworkers 【Menu】 “Omurice (1,300円)” ※The menu says 1,100円, but prices were revised starting in May “Mini mini salad (200円)” 【Summary】 The Italian restaurant “Épinal” is located along Kiyosubashi-dori, a little way toward Iriya from Ueno Station. Since opening in May 2009, it has been operating for over 15 years and feels firmly rooted in the neighborhood, offering a wide variety of pasta and pizza at reasonable prices. I visited on a day off at 11:00, just after opening. Naturally, we were the first party, but as 12:00 approached, a few people who seemed to be locals started coming in. The interior has a homey atmosphere, and the lady running the place was very courteous, making it comfortable. I ordered omurice this time, but the pasta dishes also looked very tasty, and there seemed to be a wide selection of alcoholic drinks at dinner, so it looked suitable for drinks too. If you live nearby, do stop in.
