This place is a gem. Nothing has changed here in decades. The classic coffee choices. Open early. What’s not to love!? And you can smoke here BUT it’s well ventilated and when I came at 7am, no one was here and no one was smoking. A bit of a throwback to smell cigarettes in a cafe. Recommend coming for the nostalgia alone.
View on GoogleIt was like stepping into a different era visiting this cafe. The color palette gave out a welcoming warmth. And judging from the framed Kandinsky copies on the wall, it must be a deliberate choice. The staff were absolutely delightful. I had the sandwich set of the day - exactly what I would expect from a traditional Japanese kissaten. Tip for non-smokers: wisely choose your time of visit. This is one of the rare establishments that allow smoking. Imagine the crowd of smokers from nearby offices during lunch time on a weekday. 😂
View on GoogleLovely woman who runs this shop with quick service and friendliness. Ordered an egg and cheese sandwich which came with a small salad and a drink for 750 yen. Hole in the wall local spot where smoking is allowed. If that doesn’t bother you great way to experience a local place!
View on GoogleOwner was super friendly. Menu was in Japanese but she very patiently helped me with it. I basically browsed through the Google reviews and kinda placed my order from there. Couldn’t find many places that open early but this one opens at 6am. Can smoke inside but as a non-smoker I couldn’t tell.
View on GoogleA budget-friendly café tailored for the everyday local people. The staff are friendly and welcoming to tourists. Note that this is a smoking café.
