If you are looking for a break from the busy streets of 浅草寺 this is the place to be. Cafe Capyba feels like a cozy living room where you can relax on sofas with two very friendly capybaras. The capybaras are well-cared for and often come right up to you, especially if you buy some vegetable snacks (the carrot sticks are a hit). It’s the perfect spot for photos and a unique way to destress. Essential Tips: Booking is Mandatory: They operate on a strict reservation system. Slots open 2 weeks in advance and fill up fast, so you need to book online early! Lockers: They provide free lockers upstairs for your bags so you can interact with the animals hands-free.

A unique and heartwarming experience. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. They happily take photos for you and show you the best ways to pet the capybaras so the animals can enjoy the interaction as well. The capybaras themselves are very calm, relaxed, and gentle. There are only two of them, which I actually appreciated because it means the place never feels overcrowded and the animals have plenty of space and attention. Highly recommended!

I visited Café Capybara in Asakusa Tokyo and my experience was really amazing. The capybaras are wonderful. You can relax pet them enjoy a drink and have them close to you. They look happy and well cared for. But what made this place very special was the staff. The four girls working there are very kind polite and friendly. They speak in a very gentle way and make you feel comfortable and welcome like you are at home. Their kindness is something very special. I understand why this café has so many good reviews. I would love to come back again. Happy Capybara and Merry Christmas Capybara 🎄🐹

Easy to find and make reservation. Pricing is transparent (credit card accepted). Well priced drink and clean lockers to store your stuff. Capybaras are so cute. You can feed them by buying 330 Yen carrot sticks ☺️ strongly recommended!!! Staff are friendly and happy to take photos for you.
